I always go out for walks and have never thought of writing anything. I thought it would be better to record it, lest time goes by and I forget the state of mind at that time... You can never climb a snow mountain in your life, but there must be a snow mountain in your heart...
…The original plan in 2017 was to climb Muztagh Peak (7546 meters) in Xinjiang, but due to various reasons, the trip failed.
By chance, I completed the climb of Haba Snow Mountain, and I have no regrets.
Use the form of a running account to show the whole process, so everyone can just watch it.
Haba Snow Mountain, with an altitude of 5,396 meters, is located in the southeast of Shangri-La County. It is a mountain that rose sharply under the strong influence of the Himalayan orogeny and subsequent Quaternary tectonic movements. It belongs to the Hengduan Mountains.
The highest peak is 5,396 meters above sea level, while the lowest river surface is only 1,550 meters above sea level. It faces the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain across the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
The upper part of the mountain is relatively gentle, while the lower part is steep and steep. It looks steep, majestic, beautiful and mysterious.
"Haba" is a Naxi language, meaning flower of gold.
As a famous 5,000-meter snow mountain, Haba Snow Mountain is the first choice for many people to climb a snow mountain.
Due to the large altitude difference, Haba Snow Mountain has formed an obvious vertical mountain climate, which is distributed in subtropical, temperate, cold temperate, frigid and other climate zones. The temperature difference between the foot of the mountain and the top of the mountain is as high as 22.8 degrees. This climate has given birth to
Ecological series distributed in vertical strips.
There are alpine frozen vegetation belts, alpine meadows and alpine shrubs, firs, spruces, conifers, mountain evergreen broad-leaved forest belts, dry and hot valley shrub and grass belts, etc., distributed three-dimensionally, with a wide variety of plants.
In the dense virgin forest, there are many precious animals.
The main peak of Haba Snow Mountain is covered with ice and snow all year round. It is tall and proud, surrounded by four small peaks. From a distance, it looks like a shining silver crown.
With the change of season, cloudy and sunny, the snow peaks change unpredictably. Sometimes the clouds are covered with mist, and the tripod disappears and appears; sometimes the clouds are misty, and strands of threads ripple among the snow peaks.
Bai Xuexiang vomited."
The white snow contrasts with the blue sky, showing infinite beauty in its magnificence.
Risk warning: Haba Snow Mountain is an entry-level snow mountain with beautiful scenery, difficulty and can fully exercise mountaineering skills.
Its natural environment is not friendly and also carries risks: first, the windy weather, the lack of shelter on the way to the summit of Haba Snow Mountain, affected by the monsoon climate, many people failed to reach the summit mainly because of the strong wind; the second is the steep slope, the steep snow slope makes Haba
The danger index of snow mountain climbing has increased. If you encounter bright ice, you must lay down ropes or move forward in groups with protection.
When you reach the Despair Slope, you will encounter a slope with a slope of more than 50 degrees, which requires mountaineering skills.
The third is physical requirements. Climbing Haba Snow Mountain requires high physical fitness. Starting from Haba Village at 2,600 meters, it is a vertical climb of at least 2,800 meters to the summit. Such a climb can be completed in two days, making the physical requirements no less than most 5,000-meter climbers in China.
-6000m snow mountain.
Preliminary preparations Since the decision was made in a hurry and I didn’t know much about the local situation, the initial preparations were a bit off-topic. Fortunately, Demi introduced her friend Yang San of Haba Village to me, which was a real help in times of need!
(Laughs) Yang San and I added WeChat friends and started discussing and formulating plans.
Yang San sent me a mountaineering equipment list and asked me to compare and prepare. Since I had previous climbing experience on Siguniangsan Peak (5355 meters), there was no pressure to prepare.
I eliminated some unnecessary equipment and tried to make it as sufficient as possible. In addition to the technical equipment Yang San helped me prepare, I also carried a 75-liter backpack and a 25-liter summit bag.
DAY1 direct flight to Lijiang.
I checked the local weather on my mobile phone before and found that it has been moderate rain or light rain recently. I couldn't help but worry about whether I could successfully complete the trip. However, I felt very good as soon as I got off the plane. Sunshine, blue sky, and white clouds are all indispensable.
Since the shuttle bus from Lijiang to Haba Village only leaves for Baishuitai at 9:00 every day and passes by Haba Village, I decided to go to Lijiang Ancient Town first.
I checked into an inn at the north gate of the ancient city and sorted out my equipment. Suddenly I found that my hiking shoes were cracked, so I patched them up decisively (covering my face).
Have a bowl of Dai-style sour rice noodles first, and then start wandering.
(Laughs) After that, I went to the legendary Xia Xia Music Studio, the girl who played the tambourine and sang "Little Baby" online. I sat next to her and chatted with her for a while, and enjoyed a few new songs by the Xia Xia Play Band. I felt like she
She is quite low-key. She said that she is just a boss who plays drums and sells CDs, not an internet celebrity.
Back at the inn, I sat on the balcony, smoking a cigar, drinking beer, and looking at the ancient city at dusk. My heart felt peaceful... DAY2 I got up early, had a simple breakfast, and rushed to Lijiang Passenger Terminal early. There were quilts everywhere.
Most of the backpackers carrying backpacks were foreigners. After searching around, they found the bus going to Baishui Terrace in the corner. It was an old minibus. Why were the buses going to other places all luxury buses?
!
!
(Crying) Large bags are not allowed on the bus, and the trunk of the minibus is so small that the driver threw my big backpack directly onto the roof of the car.
We set off on time at 9 o'clock, and it was a winding mountain road all the way up. The engine of the old minibus made a loud roar, but it just couldn't pick up the speed.
