Mashi Town is the largest town in Shixing County. The First District People's Government was established in September 1949 and was renamed the First District Government Office in September 1953. In July 1955, it was changed to the Mashi Municipal Office. In March 1956, the Mashi Township People's Government was established. In December 1957, Houpi Township in Nanxiong County was placed under the jurisdiction of Mashi Township, Shixing County. In June 1958, it was renamed The People's Committee of Mashi Township established the Upstream People's Commune in September of the same year. In December of the same year, it was merged into Nanxiong and renamed Mashi People's Commune. In 1959, Mashi Commune and Nanxiong County Zhutian Commune merged to form the Gushi People's Commune. It was separated from the Gushi People's Commune and restored to the Mashi People's Commune. In November 1983, it was changed to the Mashi City Municipal Office. In January 1987, the Mashi Town People's Government was established. The total population of the town is close to 50,000, including 36,000 agricultural population, 8,000 urban population and 6,000 migrant workers. The town has administrative jurisdiction over Yuanjing, Tangjiao, Dutang, Chaitang, Pitian, Mashi, Gaoshui, Anshui, Hongli, Laozhoushui, Minfeng, Erjing, Huangtian, Chigu, Luyuan, Qunli, There are 22 village committees and 256 villager groups in Xifeng, Zhudongjing, Liping, Houpi, Wenlu and Lingtou.

Gaoshui Village is an administrative village in Shixing County. It is the same village as Qunli Village, Tangjiao Village, Zhudongjing Village and Hongli Village. It has beautiful mountains and clear waters, outstanding people and fresh air.
