White Rock in Vancouver is a small town in southern Vancouver and belongs to the Greater Vancouver area.
Baishi Town is very small, only a few hundred meters wide and only a few kilometers long, with an area of ??only five square kilometers.
It takes more than 40 minutes to drive from downtown Vancouver and only about five minutes to the US-Canada border.
A tourist from afar is enchanted by the setting sun.
The name of Baishi Town comes from a beautiful legend, a magical love story.
It is said that the son of Poseidon and the daughter of the Indian chief fell in love at first sight, but their love was opposed by both parents.
The son of Poseidon raised a white stone and said, "Wherever I throw the stone, we will make our home there." The stone was thrown to the location of Half Moon Bay, and a tribe thrived there from then on.
This huge white stone, like an alien object, has been here for about 11,000 years. It is actually a sediment from the Ice Age.
In 1791, the Spaniards first discovered that this huge stone could be used as a navigation mark. In order to see the sign at night and in bad weather, they painted the stone white, and this stone became famous.
The famous Baishi Town Trestle is 480 meters long and 8 meters wide. It was built by the federal government and then handed over to the Baishi Town Government for management.
The reason for building the trestle is that in the early 20th century, officials from the Canadian Coast and Fisheries Commission came to visit White Rock Town in 1913 at the invitation of local businessmen. They arrived by boat and the tide happened to be high, so they had to walk ashore on temporary driftwood.
.
After returning, they decided to build a permanent trestle in this place called Half Moon Bay to facilitate people to disembark from the boat at high tide.
The completion of the trestle has virtually left a precious tourism resource to Baishi Town.
Because of it, tourists can go from the coast to the sea area, get closer to the sea, fish, catch crabs, dive, swim, have a panoramic view of the sea and sky, and see the United States across the way more closely.
The arch of the trestle also has a story. It was donated to the residents of White Rock by the Butler family to commemorate the relay of the Winter Olympics torch on February 9, 2010, and to commemorate their son Jeff Butler and his love for sports.
Jeff Butler was a young and enthusiastic ice hockey player who suffered a fatal injury during a youth hockey game on September 14, 1985.
The scenery on the trestle is endless. The snow-capped mountains in the distance beyond the forest are covered with sunset, giving people a warm feeling. The rocks near the water are full of late-turning seagulls, which is their home.
In the dusk, Whitestone Town is embedded in the city of South Surrey, already lit by thousands of lights.
At the end of the trestle is a peaceful harbor for yachts.
After getting off the trestle and looking back at the trestle, the sunset was so charming.
The seaside of Baishi Town is also a good place to eat seafood. In the evening, go up to the rooftop of the boathouse restaurant and order two beers. The yellow liquid seems to be dotted on the vast blue sea.
The oysters produced in the well-known sea areas are processed carefully and are as crystal clear as pearls.
Grilled tuna and fried cod.
One summer, I often come to the beach and spend leisurely afternoons.
Here the snow-capped mountains and the ocean complement each other beautifully.
