The Prisoner of the Gourmet is another cartoon created by Japanese cartoonist Shimabag Lightyear after Biography of the Leaders at the End of the Century, and serialized in Youth Leap Weekly. Taiwan Province Province was serialized in Treasure Island Boys.

This is a fantasy adventure cartoon, depicting a fantasy food world full of exotic ingredients. Ingredients include: wild animals, whose meat melts between their tongues and flows out with a layer of oil, trees with delicious shrimp and crab meat all year round, and spring water flowing out of the endless aromatic brandy. However, these delicious ingredients are often fierce monsters when they are alive, or grow in natural barriers with harsh environment. Therefore, in this world, there are many food hunters who specialize in going deep into the Jedi and fighting to catch rare and delicious food. Every food hunter's life goal is to complete an eight-course life menu including appetizer, soup, fish, meat, main course, salad, dessert and drink with the ingredients he has personally captured. The story mainly depicts the story of Tereko, one of the four kings of food hunters, searching for rare food in the food industry with chef Komatsu in order to complete his whole meal menu.
