Historically, both Jews and Arabs have lived here.

In May 1994, according to the agreement reached between Palestine and Israel, Palestine implemented limited autonomy in Gaza, Jericho and other places.
Subsequently, according to agreements successively signed by Palestine and Israel, the Palestinian-controlled area gradually expanded and currently includes the entire Gaza Strip and part of the West Bank, with a total area of ??approximately 2,500 square kilometers.
As of June 2022, the Palestinian population is approximately 13.5 million, of which the population of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is 5.23 million (at the end of 2021), and the rest are refugees and expatriates abroad.
