Enshi's delicacies include Fengtou ginger, Tujia oil tea soup, Gexianmi, lazy tofu, Bai Yang dried bean curd, water shield, fried wide pepper, social rice and so on.
1. Fengtou Ginger: named after its shape like Fengtou, its ginger handle is like a finger, the tip is bright red, and the finished product is crisp and tender, rich in selenium, juicy, moderately spicy and delicious.
2. Tujia oil tea soup: fragrant, crisp, smooth, fresh, delicious and palatable, refreshing and quenching thirst, so there is a folk saying: If you don't drink oil tea soup, you will feel panic.
3. Gexianmi: It was well known 15 years ago. According to Compendium of Materia Medica, Gexianmi was born on a stone in the cave of Guangyanxi in the lake, and it burst into the mouth when it was raining heavily, and this rice flowed out with it. The natives fished it, and when they first took it, it was like a small fresh fungus, purple-green, mixed with vinegar, fat-green and edible. The native name opened ceramium, and the dry rice was immortal. Jin Gehong hid the lack of food and took it as food, hence the name Gexianmi.
4. Lazy tofu: Also known as joint dregs, Tujia people in Enshi have deep feelings for joint dregs. In the war-torn year, due to the shortage of food, joint dregs saved many people's lives, and there is a folk saying that Chili peppers are used as salt and joint dregs are used for the New Year.
5. Bai Yang Dried Beancurd: Grind soybeans into bean curd, pour them into a cube model, compress them, and dry them with slow fire. They are as thin as paper, as lemon in color, and have a unique fragrance.
6. water shield: also known as horseshoe grass, nettle grass and water sunflower, it is said that it was given by ancient sacred mountains, and it is a treasure in the water. Since the Jin Dynasty, it has been a tribute and a delicacy for imperial palace banquets.
7. Fried Wide Pepper: It is a housewife's housekeeping dish in the home of Tujia Mountain, and everyone, men, women and children, loves to eat it all the time.
8. Community meal: it is a kind of food offered by Tujia, Miao, Dong and other ethnic minorities to worship the country, in order to pray for a smooth new year, a bumper harvest and a peaceful family.
