Beixing Town: governs Beixing Neighborhood Committee; Yang Er, Yang San, Zhendong, Beixing, Dalong, Jingtang, Shentian, Shentian No. 2 Village, Shuikouying, Gangtou, Jixing, Si There are 16 village committees in Lian, Wangding, Honghe, Shiqian and Yangyi.

Tanbu Town: governs Tanbu Neighborhood Committee; Wabu, Yahu, Minzhu, Shuikou, Pinglingtou, Langtou, Dongfeng, Xintai, Henggang, Buyun, Shinan, Shihu, There are 27 village committees in Hongfeng, Shegang, Dayao, Buxi, Chatang, Shihushan, Huanshan, Sanlian, Hualing, Zangshuyuan, Dawo, Luocun, Tangmei, Wenyi and Wen2.

Chini Town: governs the Chini Neighborhood Committee; Xibian, Hualu, Cathay, Dongsheng, Baini, Xinhe, Baishi, Lianzhu, Maogang, Xialianzhu, Hengsha, Menkoukeng, Hetang, Hexi , Lantian, Litang, Liantang, Ruiling, Zhudong, Shikeng, Chini, Fengqun, Tianxin, Huangshatang, Huangmu, Wushi, Jianling, Jinshan, Jiyi and Yangwu 30 villages committee.

Shiling Town: governs Shiling Neighborhood Committee; Lianxing, Maling, Center, Xitou, Yishan, Juntian, Qianjin, Zhenxing, United, Hehe, Yiqun, Dongbian, Shigang, Chang There are 17 village committees in Gang, Luoxian, Yangyi and Yanger.

Huaqiao Town: governs six neighborhood committees: Luochaigang, Zhuhu, Wangongtang, Yanghe, Huatang, Banbianshan-Gangtou.

Yayao Town: It has jurisdiction over Yayao Neighborhood Committee and 5 village committees: Cenjing, Yayao Old Village, Sanxiang, Yayao New Village, and Kuangjiazhuang.

On February 4, 2005, the Civil Affairs Department of Guangdong Province (Yuemin District [2005] No. 10) approved the cancellation of Beixing Town and Huaqiao Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou City, and merged them into Huadong Town; revoked Furong Town was merged into Shiling Town; Xinhua Town was abolished and Xinhua Street Office was established. On May 28, the Guangzhou Huadu District Committee and District Government officially announced the adjustment of town-level administrative divisions in Huadu: the three towns of Beixing, Huaqiao and Huadong were abolished and Huadong Town was newly formed; Furong and Shiling were abolished Town, Shiling Town was newly established; Xinhua Town was abolished and Xinhua Subdistrict Office was established.

As of December 31, 2005, Huadu District governs 1 subdistrict (Xinhua) and 7 towns (TiMian, Huashan, Tanbu, Chini, Shiling, Huadong, Yayao) .

Topography and Climate

The terrain of Huadu District is high in the north and low in the south, with rolling hills in the north, shallow hilly platform in the middle, and Guanghua Plain in the south, forming a rectangle tilted from northeast to southwest. Liuxi River flows through it in the east and Bajiang River flows through it in the west. Huadu District has a subtropical monsoon climate, with neither scorching heat in summer nor severe cold in winter. The annual average temperature is 21.7 degrees Celsius. There is ample sunshine and rainfall, evergreen vegetation and flowers blooming all year round.

Historical origins

The territory of Huadu District (formerly Hua County) was under the jurisdiction of Panyu in the Han Dynasty, under the jurisdiction of Nanhai County in the Sui Dynasty, and after the Song Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Panyu and Nanhai County. In the 25th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1686), parts of Nanhai and Panyu counties were taken to establish counties. Because the county seat was close to Huashan Mountain, it was named "Huaxian" and belonged to Guangzhou Prefecture. Hong Xiuquan, the revolutionary leader of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, was born here. During the Republic of China, Huaxian County was mainly under the direct jurisdiction of the province. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was successively affiliated to Jiangbei Prefecture, Pearl River Prefecture, Northern Guangdong Administrative Region, and Foshan Prefecture. In April 1960, it was classified as a county under Guangzhou City. On June 18, 1993, with the approval of the state, the county was removed and a city was established, named "Huadu", and the Provincial People's Government entrusted Guangzhou City to manage it. On May 21, 2000, it was approved by the state to withdraw from the city and establish a district, becoming Huadu District of Guangzhou City.

In August 2020, Huadu District was listed as a demonstration county for rural domestic waste classification and resource utilization in 2020.

In July 2020, the 2020 China’s Top 100 County Smart Cities list was released, with Huadu District ranking 97th.

In October 2019, Huadu District was selected as one of the top 100 districts in terms of comprehensive strength in the country in 2019, ranking 19th.

In October 2019, Huadu District was selected as one of the Top 100 National Science and Technology Innovation Districts in 2019, ranking 32nd.

In September 2018, CCID Consulting released the ranking of China’s top 100 districts in 2018, with Huadu District ranking 36th.
