About Zhenyuan
Zhenyuan county belongs to Qiandongnan Prefecture, which is about 0/90km away from Kaili City, the capital of Guizhou Province. It is located in the Wuling Mountain area in the east of Guizhou Province, and it is a sloping land for the transition from Guizhou Plateau to Xiangxi Hills. It is adjacent to Xinhuang in Hunan in the east, Sansui and Jianhe in the south, Shibing in the west and Cengong and Shiqian in tongren city in the north. It is the eastern gate of Guizhou Province, and is known as "the key of Yunnan and Chu, the gateway to eastern Guizhou". Zhenyuan and Zunyi are the only two historical and cultural names in Guizhou Province, which can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period. Qin was founded in the Spring and Autumn Period and is a county in central Guizhou.
Recommended route
Recommended route: turn right after entering the city gate, don't cross the new bridge, and walk all the way along the river to Qinglong Cave (a religious building. If you are interested, you can buy a ticket), cross the Zhu Sheng Bridge, and the square axis can lead to Shiping Mountain. There is a scenic path. Tickets for Shiping Mountain are free here. There is a Miao Great Wall on the top of the mountain.
Ren Xiang and Chongzikou Hutong are must-see places. I recommend going to Renshou Lane and Chongzikou Lane to have a midnight snack, then going up the mountain through Sifang Lane to overlook the panoramic view of the ancient town at dusk, then waiting for the sunset to take a night view, and then going down the mountain to have a midnight snack.
Sleep late the next day, visit Heping Village (World War II Prisoner of War Shelter, admission is free with ID card) or take a cruise in Wuyang River Scenic Area.
Traffic between scenic spots
There are many ways to travel to Qiandongnan.
Starting from major cities in China, you can choose to go to Guiyang first and then take the train to Zhenyuan.
There is a shuttle bus from Kaili to Zhenyuan ancient city.
Depart from Chengdu, stay in Guiyang by train for one night, or fly to Guiyang for one and a half hours. The night before this holiday, we drove from Lu Expressway to Rongzun Expressway to Zunyi for one night, and continued to take the expressway from Zunyi the next day. Then after Zhenyuan toll station, we took a provincial road and went directly to the county seat. On the third day, start from Zhenyuan and continue to take Rongzun Expressway to Xijiang River. The journey takes about 9 hours, and the return trip is blocked in Meishan section for a while, and it takes 10 hour to get to Chengdu (not counting the meal time).
I am so headstrong this time because there are three drivers in our car, and we can drive instead of them! The road conditions are very good. After Luzhou, I seldom see cars. I can't help sighing that I didn't even see a car in Sichuan.
About food
Wangji Jinsha Niu mutton powder
Arrive at the first stop of Zhenyuan cuisine, if it happens to be in the morning. What you want to eat is Wang Sha beef mutton powder, which is especially praised by Zhenyuan people. It's less than 100 meters away from Zhenyuan Theatre, opposite the entrance of Zhenyuan Old City Wall. Although it is not the origin of local beef mutton powder, Zhenyuan people invented a unique way to eat it, that is, it must be eaten with fried rice cakes. Stir-fried wok is a must for Zhenyuan breakfast!
Ji time-honored bingtianjiu
In addition to homemade sweet wine, iced wine is also made of glutinous rice flour into balls. Make it in advance and put it in the freezer. Seal the cup and take it away. Iron is not convenient to drink.
Time-honored yuanmei bean curd
This tofu shop is located in Zhenyuan Pedestrian Street. You can see it on the pedestrian street not far from Zhu Sheng Bridge.
Tofu has original flavor. Of course, you can eat salty, spicy and sweet food according to your preference.
Yuandongjia flavor
The river under Xinqiao is a snack street. This time, we chose a very delicious tofu brain grilled fish. It can be said that tofu pudding grilled fish is actually a major feature of Qiandongnan. The tofu pudding grilled fish in Zhenyuan is an authentic Dong flavor.
Serve with tofu pudding and three peppers and pour them on the special grilled fish. The soup is particularly spicy, but it is also very fragrant. Grilled fish, mixed with the smell of river water, has a unique taste.
