The coldest monthly average temperature in Xishuangbanna is 8.8-15.6℃, and the active accumulated temperature ≥10℃ is 5062-8000℃. The accumulated active temperature in areas below 800 meters above sea level in 2013 is all above 7500℃.

There is a long summer without winter, and autumn and spring are connected and have a short period.

The annual sunshine hours in Xishuangbanna are 1800-2100 hours, and the seasonal distribution is relatively even. The annual temperature range is not large, but the daily range is large. For example, the temperature difference between the coldest month and the hottest month is only 9.9°C, while the maximum daily temperature difference can be up to 27.3℃, which is very different from most areas in my country.

In terms of the vertical differentiation of Xishuangbanna's landforms, the climate below 800 meters is hot (tropical), the temperature 800 to 1500 meters is warm-hot (southern subtropical), and the temperature above 1500 meters is warm-temperate (mid-subtropical).

There are no traces of snow in the state, but there are light frosts at higher altitudes. During severe cold waves, there are short-term low temperatures of around 0°C, which can cause disasters to heat-sensitive tropical crops.
