Longting District is one of the municipal districts of Kaifeng City, Henan Province. It is located in the northeast of Kaifeng City. It is named after the famous Northern Song Dynasty palace site "Longting". The jurisdiction extends to the junction of Zhengzhou and Kaifeng in the west, the Yellow River in the north, Xiangfu District, Shunhe District and Gulou District in the east, and Xiangfu District in the south. The total area under its jurisdiction is 345 square kilometers and the total population is 360,000 (2016).

There are many lakes and ponds in Longting District. There are Liuchi and Yellow River Beach outside the city. The Huangbian River flows north-south through the jurisdiction and communicates with Longting Lake. It is the main channel for sewage discharge and flood prevention; Branch rivers flow through the jurisdiction. Pan and Yang Lakes in front of Longting have a long history. They were formed by the gap in the Yellow River that filled the city with water in the fifteenth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1642).

Longting District is a famous cultural tourism scenic spot in Kaifeng City. Its annual tourist reception accounts for more than 70% of the total number of tourists in Kaifeng City. Longting Scenic Tourist Area is one of the first batch of AAAA-level scenic spots named in the country.
