Travel notes of Hancheng
? Text/Zhao Bin?

Yesterday, the rain was sparse. This morning, my brother Cai Jian and his parents-in-law and I went to Hancheng in the fresh air that was washed away. Although I have never cooperated with this ancient city, my brother talks about Kan Kan every time he thinks about it, which makes him very mysterious. I'm going to solve my long-standing heart today.

From Houma to Xichi of Beijing-Kunming Expressway, the scenic spots along the way are constantly marked. When we arrived at Jishan Road, my brother said that there was a big Buddhist temple not far from the entrance of the expressway, which contained the largest native Buddha in China. After several discussions, we decided to enter the Big Buddha Temple to see the true face of the Buddha. The gate of the Great Buddha Temple is ten meters wide and about five or six meters high. This is an ancient building with three pagodas. The temple gate under the plaque is closed. I went under the balcony and motioned to the window. An old man waved to me and asked before knowing that it was closed at present. I don't want to leave on a whim. Although I didn't go in, I still took photos in the center of two lion statues in front of the temple. The lion statue hummed with its hands and squatted down to look for the iron lion.

When the Buddha Temple returned to the expressway, it mistakenly traveled for three or four kilometers due to navigation errors, and it was driven in a small farmhouse at the winding path. Only when there is no road ahead will it turn back, so my brother keeps going. I remember a few years ago, new students from Yang Xiong and I went to a friend's house in Tanyang Township to add gifts. It was also because of the navigation error that I mistakenly entered the wasteland and chose a path to pass by. This is really a good place to introduce tomatoes.

If you want to drive through Hejin Longmen and go directly to Hancheng, you will pass Dayu Temple, which is a few miles away from Longmen. Because the temple is on the roadside, you will turn sideways into a small station in the temple. Above the temple gate plaque, hydrangeas are decorated in red. Tanzhou Couplet: "The Millennium Yu Gong is unparalleled, the first gate of the Yellow River in Wan Li", with statues in the door and wings on both sides. On the left side, the couplet reads: "The achievements of the tomb are hung for ever, and the horn of jade is far away from Xirong", while on the right side, the couplet reads: "All countries dress in the morning and evening, and one side casts a monument in the hot land". With the Temple Gate as the central axis, there are Guodian and Dayu Store. There are pavilions on both sides of the temple gate, and there are bells and drums in the pavilion, which means morning bells and evening drums. Around the central axis of the temple, there are the Temple of Wealth, the Temple of Gui Ren, the Temple of Medicine King and the Temple of Empress, all of which are ancient architectural styles, with wooden doors and carved beams and painted buildings, full of ancient meanings. There are four seasons and Yun Song in the yard. Walking room, spring water fills the air, just right. Although Dayu Temple is an ancient building, it is nothing special from other scenic spots, so it is not the final destination. It will fly away after a short stay, as everyone in Dayu knows, so I won't go into details here.

Walking on the gantry, trucks rush back and forth, and the road is bumpy, which should be caused by heavy trucks passing through all the year round. According to my brother, Longmen is the narrowest part of the Yellow River, only 60 meters. Because of the prominent buildings on the shore, you can't see the other side of the Yellow River, and cars come and go, so you can't stop for a long time. My brother said there is another scenic spot not far along the road, because the embankment is low, so the speed can't be lifted naturally. You can peek at the Yellow River from the car. There are one or two cruise ships floating in the Yellow River. When I arrived at Qibali Road in the scenic spot, I saw the slogan: "Climb the ladder cliff of the Millennium Road and explore the peach blossom valley", only then did I know that my brother was talking about the ladder cliff. There are four floors under the cliff. When you walk past the bottom of the building, you can look up at the step cliff. The cliff is very steep and almost vertical. The ground is hundreds of meters away from the top of the cliff. Looking up, there is a corridor like a ladder on the top of the cliff. I don't know, because I haven't reached the top yet. My brother and I both thought of Li Bai's poem "Flying down three thousands of feet". The facilities in the Tiantai Cliff Scenic Area are monotonous, there are carts passing by the roadside, and the air is not very good.

When I turned back to Longmen, I couldn't go directly from Longmen to Shaanxi because the vehicles I was driving didn't match, so I couldn't feel the artistic conception of carp yue longmen. When I crossed the Yellow River to Hancheng, it was already noon, and a tower appeared in the distance not far from the ancient city. It was very eye-catching, with eight stories high, about thirty or forty meters. There is a main street in the ancient city, with scenic spots on both sides. There are many shops on both sides of the street, and the business is prosperous. Food, clothing, housing and transportation are not bad. The first stop is Jiulang Temple in Hancheng, which was built in the first year of Yuanyou (1308) and was renovated in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a temple in the Yuan Dynasty, dedicated to the doctors of the Jin State in the Spring and Autumn Period, namely Yi Ying Hou Zhaowu, Gong Sunyujiu and Cheng Ying. Jiulang refers to the orphan of Zhao, and Jiulang is homophonic with salvation. According to "Hancheng County Records", Jiulang Temple was built in Zhou Xianwang for five years, and it is famous for saving the world. There was a female staff member in the temple who talked to me many times. Because she can't speak Mandarin, she can't hear clearly. After careful argument, she knew she was wearing a mask. In front of the temple, there is a couplet inscribed by Wang Jie in the spring of the 29th year of Qianlong's reign: "When you worship God with one heart and one fragrance, there are always three salutations when you enter the temple".

Along the main streets, there are Beiying Temple, Champion House, Qingshan Temple, Guards House, City God Temple and Wang Chuang Palace. Because Zhuangyuan House, Jinyiwei House and Wang Chuang Palace were closed during the epidemic, four people walked into the food street and chose a noodle restaurant. My brother chose another noodle restaurant to eat cold noodles because he liked it. The food streets are all antique buildings, and the shops are not big. The shopkeeper is very hospitable. When they see pedestrians, most people will ask questions. When they visited the food court, they saw an antique gatehouse, which looked like a small courtyard from the outside to the inside. They just wanted to take out their mobile phones and take photos when they saw the sign on the left side of the door saying "toilet". They hurried away with silent smiles and almost made a joke.

After dinner, a lecturer explained outside Qingshan Temple, so I followed people all the way to the lecture. Unfortunately, I didn't go into Qingshan Temple to have a look. After turning three or four corners, we came to the Royal Guards. The pentagonal plaque of "Royal Guards, Jinshi, Wen Kui, Wu Kui and Lian Deng" hung on the gate. It is the former residence of Jinshi in the tenth year of Tongzhi, Zhang Hongbiao, the bodyguard of Lanling, a captain of Zhili, Zhang Hongji, a martial artist in the ninth year of Xianfeng, and three brothers in the twelfth year of Tongzhi, that is, the "Three Lists".

Chenghuang Temple is a super-large ancient architectural complex with the largest scale, the highest architectural taste and good preservation in the ancient city. Its architecture is magnificent and its golden walls are brilliant. It declares everywhere the idea that people worshipped theocracy in the past, such as promoting good and abandoning evil. It enters the temple, passes through the political and educational square, passes through the unnamed gate, passes through the Guangjian Hall, and then hangs the Dadexin Hall. The two plaques in the hall are "Prosperous Age, Brilliant Nature, Beautiful Paradise". There are many auxiliary halls in the temple, mainly around Dexin Hall.

There is a museum in the south of Chenghuang Temple, which passes through the alley and goes straight to the main entrance of the museum. Because the tickets are too expensive, there are old people playing chess outside the museum. My brother stood by and watched for a long time, shouting several times that he didn't want to leave.

There are two gates at the southern end of the main street in the ancient city, which are not open. The title on the gate is "The moire pattern is prosperous, suitable for this paradise". Seeing that there was no place to see around, I returned along the street and passed the champion's house on the way. Wang Jie is the only champion in northwest China for more than 300 years. Emperor Jiaqing gave him a poem, saying, "Go straight to Pilang Temple, and the cool breeze will send you cool." Return to Hancheng. "Turn north along the street, build a martyrs cemetery, and climb more than 80 steps first, showing a trend of high in the north and low in the south. The central axis of the cemetery is built, and there are mausoleum roads on both sides, which are getting higher and higher. There is a memorial tower for revolutionary martyrs in Hancheng. After the tower, the path twists and turns, and the ticket hole goes straight to Zhaizhai Tower. This tower is the first building you saw when you came. The bottom of the tower can overlook the panoramic view of the ancient city from the south.

Emperor Wendi changed xia yang to Hancheng in 18. Up to now, the ancient city has concentrated buildings and is a place where cultural relics gather. After 1300 years of ups and downs, the scenery remains the same. The best memory of this city is to write this travel note and record her simple and heavy history with my words. When you can't visit the scenic spots in order to return to Hancheng in the future, there will be no more.
