Years ‖ childhood memories ~ Silishan Temple Fair

My hometown is Liangshan, Shui Bo, the birthplace of the Water Margin. My home is about 2 kilometers away from Liangshan, which is a quarter of an hour's drive. Although Liangshan ~ Mountain is not too high, it has a long history and many folk customs passed down. Liangshan in Shui Bo is not what it used to be, and the mountain is still there. However, Shui Bo has disappeared, and it has retreated into an Dongping Lake with beautiful scenery.

? My home is near the beautiful Dongping Lake. When I was a child, I often went to the lake to play in the water, and I learned my swimming skills from the lake (wild bathing is not recommended). In the north of our home, there is a mountain called Sili Mountain, formerly known as "Jiliang Mountain", which is located in Daimiao Town on the west bank of Dongping Lake. Therefore, the mountain is full of thorns, hence the name "Jiliang Mountain", also known as "Liliang Mountain". After the Song Dynasty, a patrol inspection department was established here, which was renamed as Silishan. There are two huge stones called "Thousand Buddha Cliffs" on the top of Sili Mountain. Although the mountain is not big, it has become the earliest religious mountain in northern China since the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Because of the famous peasant uprising in the Northern Song Dynasty, Song Jiang, Zhang Gai, Wu Yong, Liu Tang, Gongsun Sheng, Ruan Shi and others gathered here after "outwitting the birth outline". According to legend, it was the granary of Liangshan heroes in those days, and occasionally burnt grains could be dug on the top of the mountain. (It may also be that people now deliberately do it for the mystery of the legend.) Every year on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, there will be temple fairs, which have a history of thousands of years. It is said to commemorate the story of Liangshan heroes doing justice for heaven.

Most people from relatives, friends and neighbors go to the temple fair in groups. Most farmers in the countryside also put down their farm work to catch the temple fair. People gathered in four townships and eight towns want to eat, live, buy things and watch the excitement, which provides broad business opportunities for the temple fair. Businessmen, craftsmen, and Jianghu people all came from all directions, including those who sell shoes and hats, cloth, lottery, pills, powders and pills, acrobatics, daily groceries, drums and westerns, and folk handicrafts. At the 7-day ancient temple fair, visitors can enjoy the circus, fighting sheep, fighting cocks, singing and dancing, clay figurines and folk tricks. The most important thing is that there are many kinds of snacks, such as sour and delicious bean jelly, fried buns with two fragrant sides, and meat boxes that drip oil with a bite, all of which are delicious foods that we dreamed of eating at that time, holding pocket money from our mother and waiting in line to buy in the crowded crowd.

After eating all kinds of delicious food, the favorite thing is to watch the circus performance. At that time, the ticket price was too expensive, as if it was only 5 cents a ticket. There were many thrilling programs, such as flying in cages, spitting flames, probing the jaws of tigers, and many rare animal performances at that time. Because there was no zoo in the countryside, I was full of curiosity and couldn't figure out why some seemingly terrible animals could understand human language.

? In short, when I was a child, going to a temple fair was like looking forward to the New Year, because only then would my family put down their work and take us to see the excitement of the mountain happily and play scenes that we could not usually play, just like a carnival. I haven't been back to my hometown in a blink of an eye for more than 2 years, and I haven't been to the temple fair for more than 2 years. I heard that the temple fair is still so lively now, and there are still so many people going to the party like a holiday. I think some people are chasing their childhood happiness!
