There are two villages in Shicheng Red Maple Leaf Scenic Area: Chengcun and Daicun. The one with bluestone slab ancient post road running through the whole village is called Daicun, and the one with ancient houses with pink walls and black tiles looming in the smoke is Chengcun.

There is a small hillside between the two villages. Both villages are decorated with ancient maples, but each has its own characteristics.

Shicheng Chengcun is surrounded by ancient maple trees on three sides and a limestone hillside on one side. The morning mist hangs halfway up the trees, and the smoke from cooking in the village makes it dreamlike and very popular among photography enthusiasts.

From mid-to-late November every year, the maple trees begin to turn red, which is the best time to travel to Shicheng Village in Wuyuan for red leaves. Qingyuan Village is known as a small peach land. It has been isolated from the world for a long time. It was first built in the fifth year of Qingyuan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1199) and has been more than 800 years old.
