But what really pushes this policy to the forefront is the length of volunteers.

This scheme requires each student to complete 24 hours of volunteer work per semester. It sounds easy, but it is very difficult to implement. A semester is 24 hours, which is 6 hours per month. A volunteer can count as 2 hours at most (no matter how long the students have worked, it can only count as 2 hours at a time), which means that students have to volunteer once a week on average.

Difficulty 2: There are very few units that can volunteer

There are cleaners, sanitation workers, traffic police, front desk and subway staff in our city, all of which are paid by the government. People work diligently, so there are not so many volunteer jobs, and they have to provide hundreds of thousands of primary and secondary school students every weekend.

So, farce began to appear, because the limited volunteer places had already been robbed.

Many schools organize students to go to various parks to pick up garbage in batches. Because parents have been complaining about the school, the school has to arrange volunteer time during school, and the teacher will lead the team to pick up garbage.

if you find garbage, you should take photos, and you should communicate with the relevant departments in advance to issue a proof of the length of volunteers.

In addition, parents also team up to take their children to pick up garbage, but our beautiful city really doesn't have that much garbage, so different children take turns to pick up a piece of garbage, put it back in place, and the next child will pick it up and take pictures in turn. Picking up garbage is like treasure hunting, so what's the point of parents and students cooperating to cheat?

This farce finally ended in a nationwide boycott. Some parents, who are media professionals and have great social influence, wrote a hot search about this initiative of the Education Bureau, and went to a meeting with the mayor on behalf of all parents, giving him an exhortation couplet. Therefore, the so-called volunteer housework and other initiatives have come to an end for the time being.
