Xiaohe Ancient Road, also known as Qin Jianxin Road, was originally called Lingkou Ancient Road, and later called Chuyue thoroughfare and Fuchuan Post Road. Its embryonic form, the Qin Ancient Road, was first built in the winter of the 28th year of Qin Shihuang (219 BC). In order to facilitate the administration and management of the three counties in Lingnan, Yingzheng built a new land-and-water road from Xianyang, the capital of Qin, to Guangzhou-Xiaohe Ancient Road, and connected it with the Maritime Silk Road. In the thirty-second year of Qin Shihuang (215 BC), Qin Shuaiwei Tu Sui began to levy troops in Lingnan, sent troops from Yuanjiang to the south, and built an ancient service road from Daozhou along Xiaoshui, Tuojiang and Loquat (in Hunan, where is it now called to be tested), passing through the gorge of Gumailing and Huangshaling (Man Zi Ridge) to Qingshankou (Gepo), Huanglong and Fengcheng (Fuchuan). Because of this, it is slightly different from the new road at the mouth of the Qinling Mountains (that is, the Xiaohe Ancient Road). According to textual research, it took Qin Wei Tu Sui to repair this ancient land and water road from Daozhou to Fengyang and Guangxin for two years, and more than 4, people were stationed in Hunan, Guangxi and Guangdong, including more than 2, people who died of illness, hunger, work injury and war. It was completed in the thirty-fourth year of Qin Shihuang (213 BC). This shows the danger and difficulty of building the ancient road.
