I am from Dandong, so I can’t say which one is better than the other, but let me introduce to you the characteristics of Dandong!
My relatives are from Baishan, Jilin, that is, over there in Changbai Mountain. I traveled to Dandong half a month ago. Said our Dandong is very beautiful. I don't know if it's true or just a polite comment from them, that's number one.
Second, Dandong has a good climate, and hotels and prices are not high. Lots of delicious food. Jilin has a lot of fresh food, and we have a lot of it here too. My classmates from the south all know that the barbecue in Dandong is delicious, not to mention the seafood. Dandong’s yellow clams are very famous. The transportation is convenient mainly because Dandong is not a big city. The Memorial Hall to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, the Broken Bridge over the Yalu River, and the Hushan Great Wall are also our unique attractions. We have some small rafting here. It’s safe and not expensive. If there are a lot of people, it’s fun for everyone to play together. However, if she wears short sleeves, her skin will be so dark after the water fight that she won’t want to talk anymore. The riverside is very cool at night. Many people who have been tired for a day and those traveling to Dan are on the riverside, eating, walking, and admiring the beautiful scenery of the river (you can’t see the scenery only in the morning, the river bridge at night is particularly beautiful against the colorful lights). Nowadays, many people put up Kongming lanterns and make wishes by the river at night, which is very interesting. You can also rent those ethnic costumes by the river to take photos. Not expensive. This is best done during the day. Jinjiangshan Park is also a zoo and a park. It is very well maintained. Anyway, I like to go there because there is a coolness and fragrance unique to mountains and trees. Of course there are also things to play inside. The above are all in Dandong City. There are Wulong Mountain (climb the temple), Wulongbei (swim and soak in hot springs), Qingshangou (good mountains and water), and Dalu Island (seaside entertainment and swimming) in the surrounding area. If you like, you can also check it out.
That’s it. For reference only. (Why do I suddenly feel like I’m from a travel agency? Hehe~)
