Maybe I should be lucky that the unwritten parts of this small North African country are the real survivors.

Wang Shuo has a famous novel called "Half Seawater, Half Fire". When I didn't understand the content, I always thought it was talking about Tunisia. I didn’t have time to read it, so I went to Himalaya to search. After listening to the anchor’s performance of “Yuyin Beiping”, I lost trust in society and lost my yearning for life. I have never heard of Wang Shuo’s novels since then… His “Intellectuals” is better. Wow. However, the host still really likes it, especially because he can master the energy of a Beijing girl and the tone of various characters very well and realistically.

Starting from the coastal capital in the north, heading south deep into the hinterland, slowly approaching the edge of the southern Sahara Desert, Tozeur is a desert town that is obviously different from other cities in Tunisia. It is sparsely populated and slightly... Depression, the urban area is more than 40 kilometers away from Algeria to the west.

In the early morning of February 18, 2018, we divided into several jeeps and drove towards the vast desert. Our destination was three magical desert oases.

In 627 AD, Tang Monk left Yumen Pass in the west and entered the vast desert. When he was about to die, he was rescued because the horse discovered the desert oasis. It’s always amazing to have an oasis in a desert. The car drove for dozens of kilometers, and the weather was gloomy. The surrounding scenery gradually changed from flat sand and sky to some low hills. After a while, it drove into a tropical jungle full of date palm trees. It was lush and green. It is the largest of the three oases, Sherbik Oasis, also translated as Sherbika.

Xiebik Oasis is now uninhabited. It is completely an attraction for tourists to enjoy the wonders of the desert. There are no tickets. There are only one or two sporadic armed guards to protect tourists and follow them into the depths of the oasis. at. They are very friendly and often take photos with tourists from all corners of the world.

Sherbik was originally a small Roman village in Tozeur, which means Castle of the Sun in Arabic, and later became the residence of the Berbers. People stay away from the city and live here peacefully, living a life without fighting against the world. A clear spring gushes out from the depths of the valley, becoming the source of life for the locals. Until 1969, a month-long flood destroyed the clay villages and people fled their homes. The buildings we see today are all rebuilt and ruins. There are still traces of water erosion on the mountain, and the faults and folds studied in high school geography textbooks are all exposed to broad daylight.

This oasis is far from what we see. It is very similar to the description in Tao Yuanming's "Peach Blossom Spring": there is a small opening in the mountain, as if there is light. At first he was extremely narrow, but only then did he understand people. After walking dozens of steps, I suddenly became enlightened. There is a narrow gap between the two earth and rock mountains. It is so narrow that a fat person can't pass through it. Therefore, fat people should not come to this attraction. If they come, they can only look outside. It’s difficult to carry a bag in and you’ll get scratched.

Just as we were lining up to pass one by one, a group of enthusiastic men and women suddenly started to entertain themselves. They sang and danced. The leading woman in a red hat, red clothes and pink shoes was the most active. He even dragged the men in our group to dance together. We don’t know which country she comes from or whether she is a local. From her rough voice and fiery personality, we guess that she is a fierce warrior in her village.

It started to rain lightly, and the pattering moistened the dry desert and the hungry desert plants. After passing through the narrow entrance, a pool of water appeared surrounded by hills. There were even small waterfalls flowing down from the cliffs into it. The clusters of streams meandered deep into the valley and disappeared into the forest. The Sherbika Oasis, with the Atlas Mountains at its back, is known as the coolest oasis in the world, where people can swim in warm desert streams and waterfalls.

Some places in the oasis require walking on rugged, muddy and slippery dirt roads on the mountainside. It is quite dangerous to go up and down. If you are not careful, you will get bumps and scratches, and your camera will be destroyed. I Just barely. So be sure to wear sneakers here to protect yourself and your belongings.

Evidence that the Sherbik Oasis or the Sahara in the Proterozoic period was not a desert has emerged. We found dense shell deposits on the rock walls. It is obvious that Sherbik, which is only 27 meters above sea level, is In ancient times, it was the bottom of the sea, and the entire Sahara was once a vibrant tropical paradise. Ever since I was a child, I have been inexplicably interested in things outside the mainstream consciousness. This passion has never stopped or diminished. On the contrary, as I grow older, I have visited more and more places, even those recorded in "Unsolved Mysteries" In places, it is getting more and more intense.

North Africa is located near 30 degrees north latitude. Vicissitudes of life and unknown things have happened here for thousands of years. The Sahara Desert was not actually formed 2.5 million years ago as stated in the encyclopedia. It was still lush and green 5,000 years ago. Thousands of kilometers of vast fertile wilderness stretched across the African continent, extending from Egypt to the Atlantic coast of Western Sahara. Eye of the Sahara, the largest freshwater lake in the world. Many North African countries such as Chad and Sudan have discovered the ruins of huge ancient cities buried under the desert, and Mauritania has a dense network of underground rivers. Herodotus, the ancient Greek historian and the father of history, marked the rivers that crisscrossed the area on the map of Africa drawn in 450 BC. The Western Atlantic Ocean transported hundreds of miles of water inland, and there was also a northwest Southeast-oriented Nile River.

Perhaps it is because of the Younger Dryas (Little Dryas) climate disaster 11,000 years ago, perhaps because of changes in the tilt angle of the Earth's orbit, or perhaps because of the cycle of the Sahara turning into an oasis desert every 20,000 years Sexual changes last occurred around 5,000-8,000 years ago... The cradle of ancient human civilization seemed to have mysteriously disappeared suddenly and turned into the largest desert in the world.

People who relied on the seaside and along the Nile River survived, leaving only sporadic oases on the earth for future generations to miss and admire nature.

The second oasis is called Tamerza. Compared with Sherbik, it is very small. It only takes a downhill turn to reach the end, but it is occupied by the stalls of small vendors. With more area, the commercial scene is much more prosperous than that of Xiebik. Here I bought the smallest Aladdin's lamp, smaller than the one in Morocco. When it comes to Aladdin, I always ask my friends, do you know how many brothers Aladdin has, then I will tell you three, Aladdin, Aladdin, Aladdin, Aladdin.

In addition, colored sand bottles are the most common souvenirs. Large and small glass bottles are filled with layers of purple, yellow, red and pink sand, forming different shapes. The main images in the picture are camels, sunset, and date palm trees, which is very magical.

In the mountain stream, we met a group of children who came here to play. It felt like a group activity outside school. They enthusiastically took us for a photo. Although we were strangers, they could still put their arms around each other, as if we were together. brother.

If Sherbik Oasis is about climbing over mountains and ridges, and Dameheza is a shopping mecca, then the third Mead Oasis is about canyon style. We did not see the lush vegetation and gurgling water of the first two on the high cliffs, only a grand canyon extending for 3 kilometers, with different colored soil layers formed by crustal movement and sedimentation over time, like a ribbon. The gorge was once part of the original village's natural defense system. Once a small village in the middle of the mountain, because the houses were destroyed by geological disasters, people had to abandon their homes and move to the foot of the mountain not far from the original site.

You can find the content of these oases on the Internet, but not much. The only thing they have in common is that "The English Patient", which won 9 Oscars, seems to have been filmed everywhere. Also translated as "Don't Ask Me Who I am". Our tour guide said that Mead, the last canyon oasis, is the real place to take pictures.
