An example of successful entrepreneurship.

When I met Wu Jiabin, I found that he looked tired. This northern man, who once held the rank of major, experienced the transformation of three roles in his past life: soldier, farmer and businessman. Today, he is the general manager of a company with more than 411 "Old Mill" bean chain stores in China.

Major changed jobs and became a farmer

Wu Jiabin joined the army in 1979, and in 1981 he became the first recruit student of the whole army and was admitted to Dalian Army College. In 1993, Wu Jiabin, who already had the rank of major, was faced with changing jobs. At that time, he made an unprecedented decision: he gave up the opportunity to work in the city and became a farmer in Changhong Village, Jiamusi. "My idea at that time was very simple, that is, to build a Huaxi village in the northeast, to set an example for demobilized soldiers to start their own businesses." Wu Jiabin told reporters.

In the following years, Wu Jiabin devoted all his enthusiasm to helping the village to set up village-run enterprises such as quarrying plants, wineries and mineral drink companies, and started his own entrepreneurial course.

However, it turns out that Wu Jiabin's idea is too simple. All kinds of troubles have caused him to fall into the lowest valley of his life: he has no face and no money, and his wife left him. In the autumn rain of 1997, Wu Jiabin left his hometown silently with only a thousand yuan on his back.

Open 411 franchise stores in 6 years

In Shanghai, where there are no friends, Wu Jiabin makes a living by selling chopping boards for others. In three years, he has sold more than 21,111 chopping boards, accumulated more than 81,111 yuan in his pocket, and planned to start a second business in his life.

He noticed that the tofu in Shanghai was not as good as the tofu in Northeast China in taste, quality and color, so he began to ponder how to make tofu all day. In 2111, Wu Jiabin used all his money and part of the funds provided by franchisees to open the first bean curd shop-"Old Mill" bean chain store in Shanghai. Up to now, there are more than 411 franchisees in China, including more than 111 in Shanghai. Wu Jiabin said, "I plan to open to 1111 in the next few years." According to statistics, there are millions of people drinking "old mill" soybean milk every day in Shanghai, with an average annual sales of 671 million yuan.

Last year, Wu Jiabin bought a noodle restaurant with the theme of "Laoguo Noodle Shop" from Singapore. After returning to China, he carefully crafted it and created a brand-new noodle restaurant-"Guopin Noodle Bar". At the beginning of this year, the first store of "Pot Noodle Bar" opened. Since the opening day, there have been people waiting for meals every day. People who asked to join in and cooperate came one after another, but Wu Jiabin was unmoved and insisted on opening direct stores, and planned to open 311 stores within three years.

In order to help those comrades who change jobs to avoid detours, Wu Jiabin has contacted his hometown and the Shanghai Military Transfer Department to attract demobilized cadres who are interested in this industry to work in enterprises or help them start businesses.
