South Dates "Eating three dates a day will keep you from getting old", this folk proverb has been circulating in Yiwu for a long time. Southern jujube is a precious product unique to Yiwu. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was listed as a tribute, so it was also called "Jingguo". The first episode of "Chinese Famous Products" records that "the best jujube from the south of the Yangtze River is the southern jujube from Yiwu, Zhejiang." Southern jujubes processed from "Double-Ren Jujube" have thick, shiny black flesh, clear and fine patterns, sweet taste, and rich nutrition. They contain sugar, starch, protein, multiple vitamins, tannins, nitrates, tartaric acid, etc. ingredients. The sugar content of fresh dates reaches 10-36%, and the vitamin C content is 90-120 times higher than that of apples, pears, peaches, etc., and more than tangerines, oranges, lemons, etc. It has medicinal effects such as nourishing the spleen, calming stomach qi, moistening the heart and lungs, relieving coughs, replenishing the five internal organs, and treating deficiency. Candied dates are also called golden amber candied dates. Tofu skin and yuba
The tofu skin and yuba produced in Yiwu are delicious and nutritious, with a protein content of 48-54%, which is 1-2 higher than lean pork and beef. times, and has a complete content of various amino acids. It is a complete protein and a high-protein traditional brand-name supplementary food. Tofu skin was first produced during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and was a delicacy of the palace at that time. It is as bright as jade, as greasy as fat, as thin as paper, dry and hygienic. The yuba is bright yellow in color and shaped like a gold bar. It is easy to store and easy to cook and eat. It is known as the "golden branch and jade leaf yuba". The main producing areas of tofu skin and yuba are in Tanlin, Dachen, Dongtang, Xinxin, Humen and other townships, with an annual output of about 1,500 tons. Baizijiu and Dingchengjiu
They are well-known local wines. There is a record of "Baizijiu" in the "Yuke Series" written by Zhu Danxi, a famous doctor in the Yuan Dynasty. Its color is like a heavy jujube, its color is like amber, its aroma is mellow, soft and refreshing. It does not overflow when the cup is filled, and a thick liquid remains in the cup after drinking. Baizi Liquor won the special prize at the International West Lake Expo in 1929, 1988 and 1993, the silver medal at the first national food expo, and the gold medal at the first food expo in Zhejiang Province. The traditional brewing method uses pure white glutinous rice, brews it with winter water, presses it from March to May of the following year, and puts it into storage for three years before use. Shanhuali
