The Welland Canal runs through the city center and is located in the city center, attracting thousands of tourists every year.
history
The earliest communities appeared at the junction of Beaver Daams, DeCew Falls and St. John. However, after the opening of the first Welland Canal in 1829, they were replaced by the new canal villages in John Solo, Fort Alain and Port Robinson. John Solo, located in the upper reaches of Niagara Cliff, quickly became a major local community, registered as a village in 1850 and upgraded to a town in 1870. When the Niagara region was established in 1970, the town of John Sorol was expanded to include the former town of John Sorol. 1975 The whole town merged into the final city of John Solo.
John Solo was also the battle site of Beaver Daams 18 12, where on June 25th, 18 13, Colonel Charles and bost Le and their American troops were defeated by 80 British soldiers and 300 Konawag Mohawk troops.
Historical sites [edit]
Old fire station
Until welland mills is restored.
DeCew House on Decew Road was built in the late18th century and was built by British captain John B DeCou. It is the headquarters of Britain in this area. During the 18 12 war, that is, on June 22nd, 13, laura seay Cod set out from Queenston for Dexi's home to warn Captain James fitzgibbon that he was about to attack the United States. Fitzgibbon and his men were able to seize the power of the United States and help turn the tide. The house was destroyed by fire at 1950, but the website was rebuilt by the foundation and memorial plaque. This landmark comes from a corner of Union Park, where teenagers live and are surrounded by popular residences.
The old fire department is located in the west of Albert Street 12, and is built next to the second Welland Canal 1878. This building used to be John Solo's police force. On this day, it was included in the basement prison. For years, the fire alarm bell has been ringing to strictly enforce the nine o'clock curfew in this town. The old fire department was designed and built by architect John La Shaw at a cost of $2,483. It has a combined bell tower and tower hose, yellow and red brick walls, semi-circular wooden windows, and a circular wooden window at the end of the tower wall. Decorate each window with a yellow brick arch frame. Its clock hanging on the tower was used until 1964, and then the fire brigade moved to a new building in Tudao Street nearby. The old clock in 1967 was installed outside the new fire hall. This "old pavilion" was later used as the venue of the YMCA John Solo for several years.
Lizi Pavilion is located in the north of Aumund Street 14, which is a well-restored building at 1862. From 188 1 to 1884, it was once a timber merchant and the mayor of John McDonagh and John Solo. The Chestnut Museum currently houses the John Solol & & Beaver Daams Historical Society, and the John Solol Public Library goes to the museum to collect John Solol and parts.
St John's College Building on Hollo Road is a one-room wooden school building in West Thorold. Established in 1804, it is the first free school in Canada. The first teacher in the school was Samuel Bozo. The enrollment rate of 1826 is 29. The building has been completely restored to 1974.
Maple Hearst, St. David West Road 14, is the iconic former residence of John Solo and Jacob Cove. Located in the highest city, this mansion provides a perspective below social authority. The built-in Xiukov in 1885, a red stone structure with well-designed gables and skylights, has been used in various houses, hospitals and private sanatoriums. Maple Hurst has recently recovered. It is now known as Kifta, a 65,438+00-room hotel, which is famous for its exquisite cuisine.
Welland Mills, located on 20th Street in Songbei, built the second Welland Canal at the bank of Jacob Cove 1846. At that time, there was the largest waterwheel in Canada. The Keefer family is an entrepreneur and is considered as one of the founding families of John Solo. At its peak, the factory was able to produce 3 million barrels of flour (89 tons) every day and store 70,000 bushels of wheat (65,438+0,900 tons) and 5,000 barrels of flour (440 tons). Today, Welland Mills Building has resumed providing commercial space and residential apartments above the first floor.
Beaver Daams Methodist Church and Cemetery on Mara Road were built by Beaver Daams Church on 1832. This is the oldest existing Methodist church in Ontario. The first pastor who preached in the church was Reverend Egton Ryerson, who was mainly responsible for the establishment of Ontario's education system.
Warrior Monument The War Monument commemorates World War I (1914-19), World War II (1939- 1945) and the Korean War (/kloc-) Located in Memorial Park, at the corner of Albert Street and Church Street, it made its debut last Sunday, 192 1 10, which was erected by the citizens of John Solo: "Filial John Solo, who gave them memories of life and led to the great freedom war, and who shared the danger of gratitude commemoration."
The old public library, located at 1 south of Aumund Street, is one of Carnegie libraries, located at 156, and funded by Canada. Designed by architect AE Nicholson, the building was opened in 19 12, and moved from here to the present home, Chestnut Hall, which is the building of the 1983 library and now serves as John Solo's center for the elderly.

Cities include the corner blocks of Fort Aram, Beaver Daams, Federal Heights, Port Robinson, St. John, Rowling Meadows, South John Solo and Turner.
St John's first area in Niagara Peninsula was settled by Europeans. About 1792, the first Europeans settled in this area, when the sawmill was built on the St. John River, a tributary of Shili River. This was one of the only two steel mills in Niagara at that time. 1804, St. John became the first free school in the family to go to Canada, living in a single room and a wooden schoolhouse. Established in 183 1 through the post office, all walks of life include wool mills, tanneries, foundries, specialty stores and some steel mills. In the end, the hydropower provided by the website is no longer a commodity. With the development of the surrounding towns in this industry, St. John's wealth has gradually decreased.

Welland canal [edit]
Main article: Welland Canal
First Welland Canal: 1829 to 1844.
1824, Welland Canal Company was founded by the factory owner william hamilton Mei Lite, with John Solo George Koff as the first chairman. Construction began, followed by the turf turning ceremony at Alanburg165438+1October 30th, and five years later, the first boat sailed from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie at 1829. The original canal extends from Dahlhaus Port along the Twelve Qili River and Dick Creek, passes through the heart of John Thoreau, and ends at the Robinson Welland River in the port. The ship continued along Chipawa, followed by niagara river and Lake Erie. 1833, the canal extended southward to Gravel Bay (later Cole). When completed, the canal is 44 kilometers (27 miles) long and has 40 wooden gates. 1827, before the canal was expected to be completed, George kiefer built a factory near the cliff. This initiative eventually led to the establishment of John Solo.
The second Welland Canal: 1845 to 1886.
With the expansion of ship locks and ships and the deterioration of the Great Lakes, a bigger and better canal is needed. The government purchased the assets of Welland Canal Company and began to plan the second Welland Canal. From the construction of 184 1 to the completion of 1845, 27 stone-cutting shiplocks were also proposed. The second passage basically followed the same route, and it was a feature of downtown John Solo until it was filled in the 1960s. A sluice has been partially excavated, which is a feature of Beaver Daams Park activities.
The third Welland Canal: 1887 to 193 1 year.
The route of the third Welland Canal is the same as the early canal in the south of the peninsula, but the route in the north of Aranburg is completely different. It bypasses downtown John Solo eastward, goes down the cliff valley along Shili Creek, and continues to extend in the wide arc estuary of Dahlhaus. It has 26 stone locks and many relics, which can still be seen in Dongben Canal. One of them, Lock Sorod No.24, was the target of an unsuccessful bombing attack by 1900 Irish-American Fenia sympathizers. Although the first two canals pass through various steel mills, the banks of the third canal can still operate freely through the government's intentional policies.
The fourth Welland Canal: 1932 till now.
The construction of the fourth canal (officially named Welland Canal) began, which was delayed due to the influence of World War I and other factors until it was locked in 1932. The amount of concrete under construction has been reduced by 19 14 years. These three, including the world-famous double flight locks, are all in Sorod. The canal passes through the direct north-south route on the cliff, under the Shili River Valley, and extends to Weller, a new export port in Lake Ontario. In the 1920s, a new leading industry related to the canal established the South John Solow Association. At 1973, a bypass was dug in Welland. This is the fifth Welland Canal, which will cross the cliff in the first stage of a super lock, but the further development of the plan has been shelved.
Kissing the Rock in Lock 7 [Edit]
There is a "kissing stone" in Lock 7, and you can see the complex legend of John Solo. It is said that [who? It is believed that around the Fourth Welland Canal, Charles Snelgrove, originally from the Great Lakes, will take his wife's friend to the nearby Locke Canal 7 and kiss the girl goodbye before boarding his boat. According to legend, other sailors learned stones a long time ago, and they began to kiss their girlfriends or wives goodbye. Sometimes they broke a stone and put it in their pockets as a talisman for a safe journey. Sailors, as a superstitious group, think it will bring bad luck to lock in at 7 o'clock without visiting the kissing stone first.

Their shiny chrome-plated helmets were purchased at 1929 to replace the original white leather helmets and exotic uniforms. Completing the purchase on 1976 is called close-range drilling. They only use half a step and a quarter step to touch their shoulders, just like the early British army used in the war.
