Wenzhou's urban development is generally toward the east and facing the sea, which must be supported by transportation. Therefore, the planning and construction of urban railways are also in this general direction.

Therefore, a major feature of the urban railway network is its development "toward the east and facing the sea".

For example, lines S1 and S3 extend eastward, and S2 is a coastal line.

According to the Wenzhou Municipal Railway Network Plan, the Wenzhou Municipal Railway Network consists of four lines, S1, S2, S3, and S4, with a total length of 301.3 kilometers, and 77 planned stations, with an average station spacing of approximately 4.1 kilometers.

The line network is laid out in two vertical and two horizontal directions, reaching Yandang Town in Yueqing in the north, Lingxi Town in Cangnan County in the south, Dongtou Island in the east, and Panqiao in Ouhai and Shuangyu in Lucheng in the west.

Line S1: runs east-west, starting from Tongling in the west and ending at Dongtou Island in the east. The total length of the line is 77 kilometers, with 27 planned stations.

Line S2: runs north-south, starting from Yandangshan Station of the Coastal Railway in the north, passing through Yueqing, Oujiangkou New District, and Ruian. It is a fast connection channel for the coastal industrial development belt in the core area of ??Wenzhou metropolitan area in the future, and is responsible for the north-south rapid transportation connection in the coastal zone of the urban area.

Line S3: runs from northwest to southeast, and is laid out along the north bank of Oujiang River. It is a rapid connection between Oubei and Qili, promoting the coordinated development of the north and south sides of Oujiang River. The line is 47.15 kilometers long and has 10 stations.

Line S4: running from north to south, it builds a rapid connection channel between the core area of ??Wenzhou metropolitan area and the sub-centers of Yongjia, Ruian, Pingyang and Cangnan. The line is 89.55 kilometers long and has 25 stations.

How fast does the S1 line open?

The S1 line, which is under construction with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour, has 14 planned stations in the first phase of the S1 line, including 3 ground stations, 4 underground stations and 7 elevated stations.

The entire line roughly goes through four sections: "ground section-elevated section-underground section-elevated section". Passengers can enjoy the "two on and off" ride experience after taking the train to complete the journey.

The starting point of the municipal railway line S1 is Tongling, which is a ground station. Starting from the starting point, the section from Tongling to Wenzhou West mainly has ground stations.

The section from Wenzhou West to Wenzhou East (Longteng Road) is planned to use elevated stations. Trains leaving Wenzhou West Station will climb to the elevated section.

For the section from Wenzhou East to Yongqiang Airport, underground stations will be considered.

Finally, the section from Yongqiang Airport to Lingkun Peninsula mainly uses elevated stations. After leaving the airport station, the train will climb back onto the viaduct.

Peninsula Station 2, the terminal station of the first phase of the project, is designed as an elevated station.

Pass through Wenzhou South Railway Station, go northeast along the Jinwen-Wenzhou Railway Channel to Longwan District, then turn southwest along Nanyang Avenue and Qianfang Road in Longwan District to the airport. After exiting the airport station, go north across the south entrance of the Oujiang River to Lingkun Island.

Finally arriving at Dongtou, 27 stations are planned, with an average station spacing of 2.9 kilometers.

Among them, the first phase of the implementation project is from Wenzhou south to Peninsula 2 (Note: "Peninsula 2" is a station planned by the municipal railway in Lingkun). The line is 51.9 kilometers long and has 14 stations (4 underground stations and 7 elevated stations).

From Wenzhou Railway Station of Jinwen Railway to Wenzhou South Railway Station or Wenzhou Airport, the running time is within 30 minutes.
