Personally, I gritted my teeth and got into the little white rabbit that I love so much. You also know that the chance of regretting it in the future is almost zero.
I have been worried about this focal length, and I have also considered Tamron's 70-200/f2.8. After all, it has a large aperture.
If the budget is really tight, I might hesitate between Canon 70-200/f4 IS and Tamron 70-200mm/f2.8.
Tamron's has a large aperture, and the filter size is also 77mm (my two previous lenses were both 77mm, which makes it easier to share filters between different owners), while Canon's Xiaoxiaobai has a smaller aperture and a filter size of 77mm.
Not the 'common' 77mm either.
The unicorn stand is not a consideration at all for me.
Personally, I am unlikely to consider Xiao Xiaobai.
