Bacon zongzi
On the Dragon Boat Festival, we eat zongzi all over the country. Although they all eat zongzi, and most of them are similar in shape, there are obvious differences between sweetness and sourness. In the north, zongzi are sweet fillings such as red dates, candied dates, red bean paste and raisins, while in the south, zongzi are fresh meat zongzi, salted duck egg yellow zongzi, bacon zongzi and ham zongzi.
The vast majority of northerners mainly eat salty food, and zongzi is a rare dessert. The south, on the other hand, likes to eat sweets, but it can make all kinds of salty zongzi in the matter of eating zongzi. Nowadays, thanks to convenient logistics, you can eat delicious food from all over the country while sitting at home. Many jiaozi from the south are sold to the north in the form of vacuum packaging, but older people in the north feel unaccustomed to eating salty jiaozi, especially jiaozi stuffed with lard.
Sweet tofu
A few years ago, there was a very lively topic on the Internet, which was delicious, sweet tofu or salty tofu. For a time, almost all netizens came to participate in this sweet and salty dispute. China has a long history of eating tofu, and many related bean products have been made. Tofu brain is a common bean product, which is regarded as a common porridge in both the south and the north.
Northerners like salty and spicy tofu. Shrimp, pickled mustard tuber and Chili oil are common bean curd side dishes in the north. People in Suzhou, Wuxi and Shanghai, which are slightly to the south, also eat salty tofu, and the tofu there is salty and fresh. However, further south, there are many sweet tofu, including honey, taro, brown sugar, lotus seeds and even chocolate. Many little girls feel that the whole person feels silky after drinking this sweet tofu in the south, but in the north, older people or men generally don't like sweet tofu, and even they will get bored for a while when they hear that tofu is sweet.
Youth league; Sweet green onigiri
This is a kind of cake in Tomb-Sweeping Day. It is a custom to eat Tomb-Sweeping Day and green balls in Zhejiang and southern Zhejiang. The cyan of green balls is not an industrial dye, but fresh wormwood juice mixed with glutinous rice flour and kneaded into balls, and then wrapped with various sweet fillings. The traditional youth league wrapped in red bean paste has now made many new tricks that keep pace with the times. In the cake room, you can see what kind of cakes are filled, and what kind of fillings can be wrapped in the youth league now.
The taste of the green ball is quite soft and waxy. As for the taste, people who like to eat green balls say that they are very sweet, while those who don't like them say that they are too sweet and greasy. Northerners are still used to making snacks with flour. The dim sum made of glutinous rice flour is sweet and sticky, and old people wearing dentures are afraid to eat green meatballs.
Folding ear root
Many southern foods above are just a little strange to northern Renye Fang. Northerners don't like ears, and they don't even want to smell it.
The root of broken ear is also called Houttuynia cordata Thunb. It is a common vegetable in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan. It can be eaten as fried vegetables or cold dishes, and can also be used as ingredients for cold dishes such as onions, ginger and garlic. Most northerners can't stand it the first time they eat it. I'm just not used to the above food, and this ear really can't stand it. Some people say that this is the first time a dead fish has eaten the smell of broken ears. It's really hard to eat a broken ear root at first, but you'll feel good after eating it for a while. How long is this time? I lived in Sichuan for four years. In the third year, I began to get used to eating the roots of broken ears.
The four foods listed above are southern cuisines that most northerners are not used to. It can also be said that there are three southern dishes that northerners are not used to, and there is one southern dish that northerners are not used to.
