Gull Island is located in the eastern suburb of Panyu District, Guangzhou, within the scope of Shilou Town, Panyu District. There are four administrative villages, namely Shabei, Shanan, Jiangou and Haixin, and Shilou Town Agricultural Development Corporation. At the northern end of the island, the Lianhuashan waterway of the seagull bridge is connected with the outside of the island, and a 13-kilometer-long district-level highway runs through the whole island from north to south. Every village is open to traffic and connected with water and electricity, and its basic living facilities are relatively perfect. The island is mainly based on planting and breeding, and the main crops planted are rice, bananas and flowers. Four kinds of fish are the main breeding species, and the special breeding species are fish farming in rice fields, shrimp farming and breeding of insects.
1. Sightseeing and leisure tour of Gull Island
Gull Island has a pastoral scenery, with green Woods on both sides of the road, vast land and few people, and small boats can sail on the river. There is no street noise, and the air is fresh, except for the smell of ducks. There are many ducks and fruit trees here, and there are many big fish ponds on both sides. There are cabins on the fish ponds, such as the water houses on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, which are very beautiful. Several major ports can be seen from afar along the coast: Lianhuashan Port, Humen Port and Huangpu New Port!
2. Tour around Gull Island by bike
Gull Island has a greenway around the island and a road running through the island, so you can ride a bike. After you get off the bridge, you can see the greenway around the island along the village road to Fisherman's Wharf. Remember to go right, turn left and be taken to the shipyard and then go back to the bridge head. Both the island road and the village road can pass by cement road. If dogs are unfriendly when passing through the village road, you can use dog stick to guard against it.
3. Taste the special food on Gull Island
a. Sweet and fresh food, insects
Panyu Gull Island is located at the junction of salt water and fresh water, which has become a hotbed for the growth of fish, shrimp and crabs, and is rich in hemp shrimp and insects. Insects taste sweet and delicious, and are rich in high protein. On the island, tourists can watch fishermen drive boats to catch weeds, or they can work in the sea themselves.
B, "quicksand" flying salted duck eggs
There are several duck farms near mangroves, which produce large eggs. Many residents on Gull Island are experts in pickling salted eggs. When all the salted eggs are opened, the oil will flow down. I can only see the feeling that the yolk is red, bright and sandy. When I taste it, I will know that the salinity is in place and the taste is loose. Salted egg yolk stuffed with zucchini is a special dish.
C. Various specialties
Dry seafood includes salted fish, dried shrimps and starfish, aquatic products include turtles, soft-shelled turtles and Bai Bei, fruits include pomegranate, pitaya, carambola, banana, watermelon and cantaloupe, as well as dried fruits, preserved meat, salted eggs and vegetables, and you will inevitably return home with a full load.
4. Fishing in the pond
There are many large fish ponds on both sides of Gull Island, so you can enjoy the surrounding scenery while fishing and relax.
