Jingdezhen, located in the middle of Jiangxi Province, is known as the "porcelain capital" and a national historical and cultural city. Jingdezhen not only features ceramics, but also many special foods worth tasting.
The first specialty is Jingdezhen porcelain rice. Porcelain rice is made of high-quality Wuchang rice and cooked in a porcelain bowl with other ingredients. This traditional porcelain bowl steamed rice is one of the daily diets of many Jingdezhen citizens. Steamed rice in porcelain bowls can not only keep the nutrition and taste of rice, but also paste the fragrance of other ingredients with rice, thus forming a unique flavor.
The second specialty is Jingdezhen frosted crisp. Sanding Crisp is one of the traditional Chinese cakes in Jingdezhen. This kind of cake consists of multi-layer pancakes and bean paste stuffing. Although it is called sanding crisp, it is usually made of four pancakes. Sanding cakes are crisp and mellow, and the bean paste stuffing is delicious. During the Dragon Boat Festival every year, Jingdezhen holds a three-day cake festival to show its unique customs and culture to tourists.
The third special dish is Jingdezhen fried eggs with flowers. Flower fried egg is a special kind of fried egg with a layer of patterns on it. In the production process, Jingdezhen people separated the egg white from the yolk by "fishing for eggs", then sent the egg white, coated it on the yolk and fried it in hot oil. The eggs fried in this way have bright appearance, crisp taste and good color and fragrance.
These special foods were created by Jingdezhen people in order to record history and express their feelings about life. After tasting, they can feel the humanistic feelings of the city.
