Historical background of Huanghe Road Hotel

The historical background of Huanghe Road Hotel began in the 1990s. This road was first built in the 1880s and was originally named Dongtai Road. It was renamed Pike Road in 1904. After Wang Jingwei's government took back the concession in 1943, it was renamed Huanghe Road. Huanghe Road is located in the northwest of Huangpu District, Shanghai, close to the north corner of People's Square and adjacent to the bustling Nanjing Road Commercial Street, with a total length of approximately 755 meters. In 1992, the Huangpu District People's Government received letters reporting that there were few restaurants near Nanjing Road, large queues, and a lack of dining places. Therefore, on September 30, 1993, the "Huanghe Road Food Street" was officially established to solve this problem. Huanghe Road Food Street is famous for its rich dining options, including improved Sichuan cuisine, Hunan cuisine, Guizhou cuisine, etc., attracting many diners.
