The 23-kilometer trail is too long to walk all at once. Xiamen Shanhai Health Trail starts from the cruise terminal and ends at Guanyin Mountain Dream Beach. It connects the important ecological nodes in the north-central part of Xiamen Island in series, forming a mountain-sea pedestrian corridor that runs through the east-west direction of the whole island. There are eight mountains and three waters in series along the line (Huwei Mountain, Xianyue Mountain, Yuanshan Mountain, Lingxue Mountain, Hutou Mountain, Jinshan Mountain, Huzai Mountain, Guanyin Mountain, Lake, Hubin Reservoir and Wuyuan Bay).
There are also four observation platforms along the way, which are located in Huwei Mountain and Xianyue Mountain. On the observation deck, you can not only climb to the top of the mountain to see the green sea, but also overlook the landmark buildings such as the lake and Hu Weishan Meteorological Observatory.
Interestingly, the ground of some viewing platforms is transparent glass, so walking on the platform has a kind of enjoyment of jumping in the clouds.
The official APP of Xiamen Shanhai Health Trail shows that the entrances and exits along the whole trail are divided into three levels, the main entrance and exit are level 1, the branch entrance and exit are level 2, and the smaller entrance and exit along the trail are level 3. Among them, there are 10 primary entrances and exits.

The entrance and exit of Cruise Plaza is the starting point of the west side of the trail, adjacent to Xiamen International Cruise Center, and connected to the elevator tower through the elevated approach bridge of Dudong Road. The elevator tower is 40 meters high and has not yet been operated. The entrance is still under construction.
