1. Itinerary

DAY1: Arrive by high-speed rail, rent a car by yourself, visit Tianyan Scenic Area, and stay in special accommodation in Shennong Tianchi Scenic Area in the evening.

DAY2: Shennong Tianchi Scenic Area - Muyu Town - Xiangxiyuan Scenic Area - Stay at Yunfu Banshan B&B. Stay at the B&B for half a day and go to watch the "Secret Shennongjia" theater in the evening.

DAY3: Visit Guanmen Mountain Scenic Area - Shennongtan Scenic Area - Tianshengqiao Scenic Area, and stay at the Kangdi Junlan Hotel in Muyu Town.

DAY4: Self-driving tour of Shennongding Scenic Area, there are many small attractions. Including the highest point Shennongding, Jinhouling, Banbiyan, etc. It basically takes a whole day to visit this scenic spot. Arrive at Pingqian Ancient Town in the evening and stay at Yin Yue B&B in the ancient town.

DAY5: Set off at 6 a.m. to encounter the morning fog of Dajiu Lake, and spend 4-5 hours exploring Dajiu Lake Scenic Area. Return to Pingqian Ancient Town for lunch at noon, and return from Badong Station after lunch.

2. Ticket purchase suggestions

Tickets: It is recommended to purchase a Shennongjia combined ticket, which is valid for 5 days and includes six major attractions. However, you can also purchase attraction tickets separately.

3. Check-in Attractions

1. Shennongding If there is only one check-in attraction in Shennongjia, it must be the Shennongding Scenic Area. This is a classic core attraction with many small attractions.

2. Dajiu Lake is composed of nine mountain lakes with pleasant natural scenery. The most famous one is the wetland lakeside with beautiful morning fog. It depends on luck. The scenic spot is huge and it will take 4-5 hours to play slowly.

3. Tianyan Scenic Area Tianyan Scenic Area is definitely an underestimated spot among the various scenic spots in Shennongjia, and you can drive in. I highly recommend the place near the Rainbow Bridge, which is a great place to enjoy the autumn colors.

4. Shennong Altar, the holy land for worshiping ancestors, is an iconic scenic spot that explains the origin of "Shennongjia" and is also a must-see when traveling to Shennongjia.

5. In addition to the Guanmen Mountain and Tianshengqiao Scenic Areas, the Guanmen Mountain Scenic Area is the epitome of the grand view of Shennongjia, displaying Shennongjia’s geological research results and ecological and cultural landscapes from multiple angles. The naturally formed small waterfall in Tianshengqiao Scenic Area is the result of hundreds of millions of years of Shennongjia's changes from sea to mulberry field. It integrates bridges, waterfalls, ponds, mountains, flowers and trees, like a fairyland on earth, a paradise.

4. Accommodation recommendations

1. Muyu Town: Kandi Junlan Hotel This should be the best hotel in Muyu Town, with five-star hotel standards.

Yunfu Banshan B&B is right next to Xiangxiyuan Scenic Area. It is a very stylish B&B, very suitable for vacation.

5. Food Recommendations

1. Muyu Town Shanli Tuzao: Their cold water hanging pot fish is very good.

2. Dou Mi Jin Salt in Pingqian Ancient Town: Highly recommended! Every dish is amazing.

6. Transportation Strategy

There are three stations to choose from when traveling to Shennongjia, namely: Xingshan Station (Shennongjia South Station), Badong Station (Shennongjia West Station), Shennongjia Station. Xingshan Station is the closest to the key scenic spots. If you want to go to Dajiu Lake to see the morning fog, it is recommended to stay in Pingqian Ancient Town.
