Lidian Town used to be a town in the southeastern suburbs of Hanjiang District (formerly Hanjiang County) in Yangzhou City. It merged with the neighboring Xinba Town in the past few years and was merged into Guangling District of Yangzhou at the end of November.

At present, the main economy is concentrated in the land along the river (formerly on the Yangtze River south of Xinba), which is dominated by large-scale heavy industry manufacturing. There are two companies with an annual output value of over 10 billion yuan. In 2011, the GDP reached more than 30 billion yuan, far exceeding that of Hangzhou.
