Meishan is known as the "City of Cherry Blossoms", especially the Meishan Cherry Blossom Expo Park, which covers an area of ??more than 820 acres and is known as one of the ten most beautiful flower viewing places in Sichuan. There is the longest cherry blossom waterfront in China with a length of 6 kilometers, the largest cherry blossom expo garden of about 800 acres and the largest cherry blossom viewing resort of about 69 square kilometers.
Nearly one million cherry blossoms of various varieties including Somei Yoshino, Shogetsu, Sunshine, and Weeping Branch are planted in the Meishan Cherry Blossom Expo Park. Various colors of early and late cherry blossoms are planted together. Every March, the cherry blossoms in the park bloom one after another.
