Brief Introduction of Tongji Bridge in Huayang Town, Shuangliu County
(1) Huayang Tongji Bridge

How many ancient bridges are there in the history of Chengdu? According to a survey of Chengdu, there were 92 large and small bridges/kloc-0 in Chengdu in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. At present, the ancient bridges in Shuangliu include Tongji Bridge, Erjiangsi Bridge, Liunan Bridge and Jiang Hui Bridge.

Tongji Bridge is located in the west of Huayang Town, across Fuhe River, also known as "Zhongxing Bridge". It is a 7-hole stone bridge with a roll arch and a width of10m. It was built by Jia Liansheng in the fifth year of Qing Daoguang (65,438+0825). It is one of the rare traditional stone arch bridges in the western Sichuan Plain. 1 In the winter of 949, when the Kuomintang troops retreated, they bombed the1hole at the eastern end and repaired it at 1952. There are stone fences on the bridge, and 108 vertical stone pillars are embedded with stone tablets engraved with reliefs of figures, birds, animals, flowers and the Chinese zodiac. There is a bronze dragon sword hanging above bridge opening. A few years ago, the government funded the rectification of the whole bridge, which has changed a little compared with the previous appearance.

Besides Tongji Bridge in the book, this bridge should be the closest historical site I have in Huayang-because our ancestral home is under Tongji Bridge. There are too many memories about my mother-in-law, aunt, uncle, mother and my childhood.

My mother-in-law used to wait for her daughter to come back on the bridge. When my uncle was a mute, he often jumped off the bridge and took a cold bath in the rushing river. My mother's favorite thing is the sculpture on the bridge. At that time, the sculpture could still be distinguished. When I was my mother's age, their shapes were unpredictable.

Tongji Bridge in my memory is a very antique old bridge. The bridge railing is a blue and white stone bridge column eroded by the wind. I can't recognize what it is, but according to the old man, it is an incredible animal image, which was a necessity in those days. When I was a child, I liked to walk beside the stone fence, because there was a stone threshold slightly higher than the bridge deck near the stone fence-it seemed that children liked to walk along the stone threshold and so on. Due to the age, the bridge deck is full of pits, which is very uneven. On the two sides of the bridge, there are six small flower beds with huge statues of the Chinese zodiac, but more flower beds are covered with dense vines.

Many times I asked my mother, will Tongji Bridge collapse? It has been so many years! Mom smiled and told me a story before I was born-

1983, Fuhe River flooded, which was the biggest flood in Huayang. Mom goes to junior high school, in the upper and middle reaches. When I was in school in the morning, I watched the flood and my mother was still very excited. At that time, I had never seen the Fuhe River flood like this, which was still a new thing in the eyes of children. However, on the way home at noon, I found something was wrong. The house downstream had been flooded to waist height! Mother-in-law is anxiously looking forward to the return of her little daughter and quickly moved to a good place! The river is rushing, and the downstream will completely become Zeguo! Mother-in-law moved to a building with her little daughter during menstruation. She was married and just pregnant with her brother for 8 months. A few days later, the whole Huayang was in a terrible state, and there were almost no complete buildings everywhere. However, Tongji Bridge is intact! Tongji Bridge on the tip and Erjiangsi Bridge on the upstream and downstream are intact! Perhaps this bridge is exquisitely designed and perhaps blessed by the gods. It is no problem that this bridge connects two important sections of Huayang.

"So, Tongji Bridge is indestructible." Mom said. Hehe, that's what I thought. The memory of Tongji Bridge is as long, profound and cordial as the memory of my mother-in-law.

Tongji Bridge was closed and rebuilt in my senior year. This is a thing that old Huayang people love and hate.

Love is the old bridge that has been in disrepair for a long time. Unfortunately, I never thought it would be built. People can't recall the old bridge!

This new bridge is really built according to the old one-it's just too much cutting corners! The high bridge column on the original bridge railing was omitted, the stone sill of the bridge railing was omitted, the carved flowers on the carved bridge railing were rough and embarrassing, and the statue of the zodiac on the small flower bed near the bridge was nearly twice as small. The sculptor was very ugly and completely lost his previous master demeanor. The road surface is flat, and the cement floor can no longer feel the vicissitudes of the times. A monument and sign was erected at the bridge head to commemorate history and prohibit motor vehicles from passing. There are always small vendors on the bridge, selling common things such as vegetables, fruits and daily necessities. Even vendors who buy DVDs and Viagra are shouting from time to time, which makes people feel ashamed. Classical and modern are mixed, neither fish nor fowl.

Alas.

Those old bridges that cannot be recalled can only exist in the memories of the old Huayang people.

1. What Huayang Tongji Bridge looks like today.

Although motor vehicles are forbidden to pass, few people obey them. People deeply regret this cultural relic. )

Second, the bridge looks like today.

From this point of view, it is still intact and maintains the ancient style. Just a lot of big things. Only the old Huayang people can see the sadness. )

The third is the sculpture of the twelve zodiac animals by the bridge.

The sculptor actually looks very rough, nearly twice as small as before. )
