The history of Siqian Town

Siqian Town has a long history. In the first year of Wuhuangwu in the Three Kingdoms (222), the area around the river village in the town was under the jurisdiction of Pingyi County (the predecessor of Xinhui City).

In the Ming and Qing dynasties, Hecun was the residence of the "Niuduwan Inspection Department". There was a large open space in front of the department, hence the name "Si Qian".

The town is located in the west of the city, adjacent to Daze and Qibao Town in the east, facing Luokeng and Niuwan Town across Tanjiang River in the south, Kaiping and Heshan City in the west, and Heshan City in the north.

The north is hilly and mountainous, and the southeast is the alluvial plain of the lower reaches of the Tanjiang River. The town government is 20 kilometers away from the urban area.

In 1996, the town had a total land area of ??88.77 square kilometers, a total cultivated area of ??45,192 acres, jurisdiction over 15 management areas, 260 natural villages, a total population of 66,361, and more than 45,000 overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots.

The town is famous for producing high-quality and low-price hardware products. In 1996, China's GDP and gross industrial and agricultural production were 382 million yuan and 1.15 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 23.23% and 23.66% respectively over the previous year.
