the first day: Tiananmen, the Great Hall of the People, the Forbidden City, Jingshan and Beihai
Take Metro Line 1 and get off at Tiananmen East or Tiananmen West, and you will get out of Tiananmen Square. If you want to watch the flag raising, you have to get up after 4 o'clock, but the subway hasn't opened yet. If you live far away, you can only take a taxi. After watching the flag-raising, you can walk around Tiananmen Square. When it is 8 o'clock, you can queue up at Tiananmen Square to visit Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. After the visit, you can go around the Great Hall of the People. When you come out, you can go to the Tiananmen Gate from the underground passage of Tiananmen Square. After you go in, you can come out from Xuanwu Gate, opposite Jingshan Park, and go out from the west gate of Jingshan Park, with Beihai Park on the side. You can go to the front gate dashilan at night, where it is very lively.

Then there is the place to live. Personally, I suggest you live near Dashilan in front, where the traffic is convenient and it is in the center of the city, close to Tiananmen Square. The price is mostly between 1 and 2 yuan (I was living in the basement of Jingshun No.2 Store, 14 yuan). If it is a chain hotel, the room is slightly higher, about 24.
There are places to find snacks: Donghuamen Night Market, Jiumen Snacks, Qianmen Snack Street, Guijie Street and Huguosi Street. There are many local snacks! There is also roast duck, which is famous for Quanjude and Cheap Square
If you are traveling by yourself, I suggest you use a machine called "Electronic Tour Guide for Pinyou", which has basically replaced the role of a tour guide. The wonderful and comprehensive tour guide can explain the bus and subway at any time and anywhere, and tell you how to take the bus, so that you won't worry about getting lost. Check out gourmet snacks and discount restaurants anytime, anywhere. If you like self-help tour, don't want to join the group and want to get rid of the guide's shopping guide, and hope to get good tourism quality, this kind of electronic tour guide is very suitable for you.
Precautions:
1. Before you go out, please bring the original valid documents (ID card, passport, military officer's card, etc.) and check whether they are expired.
2. It is best to bring towels. Toilets are disposable in hotels, but towels are recycled. Although they are all disinfected now, for the sake of cleanliness and hygiene, you should bring your own towel. Also remember to take an umbrella in case of rain.
3. If you want to take a non-taximeter taxi locally, be sure to ask about the price.
4. No matter where you go shopping, please keep in mind that things inside or around the scenic spot are definitely much more expensive than those outside.
