People's Daily Online Sports, December 27, 2009, the second national Longyuan Cup Muay Thai competition kicked off at the Optics Valley Gymnasium of East China Normal University in Wuhan. The competition lasted for 3 days, every day. The games start at 8:30 am and 7:00 pm respectively. This is the first officially sponsored national Muay Thai competition in my country, attracting 148 male and female athletes from 21 provincial and municipal teams across the country, including Hong Kong, China and Macau, China. The competition is hosted by the Wushu Management Center of the General Administration of Sport and hosted by the Wuhan Institute of Physical Education. The national team will also select talents in this competition to prepare for the World Martial Arts Expo Conference to be held in Beijing next year.

In the end, Hubei athletes won six levels of championships. Among them, Huang Yangyun of Hubei Mulanshan Team became the first domestic female boxing champion in the women's 54kg category.
