Is there anything special about the diet of northwest people?
Northwest people love to eat coarse grains and miscellaneous grains, and are good at using simple cooking methods such as steaming and boiling, which keeps the nutrition in food well. Generally speaking, there is a problem in the northwest that "pasta is the main food, with more meat and less vegetables". Most of the most famous diets in northwest China are pasta, but eating too much pasta will lead to excessive carbohydrate intake and insufficient vegetables intake in northwest China. From the perspective of dietary balance, this eating habit needs to be improved. According to the Dietary Guidelines for China Residents, everyone should eat five kinds of food every day, including cereals, beans, vegetables and fruits, animal food and pure energy food. According to the survey, 26.2% people in northwest China can meet the above requirements, and the proportion is low. At the same time, people in the northwest often eat out, which easily leads to too much oil and salt in the diet and is not conducive to a balanced diet. Generally speaking, people who often eat out tend to eat too much animal food, while staple food and vegetables tend to eat too little. In contrast, eating at home can avoid some of the above problems. Experts suggest that residents in northwest China should strengthen their intake of vegetables and fruits, especially eat more dark vegetables. At the same time, the northwest is inland, and there are few seafood such as fish and shrimp. Therefore, local people also have obvious preference for eating meat, especially red meat such as pork, beef and mutton, which easily leads to excessive intake of saturated fatty acids and insufficient intake of trace elements such as iodine. Therefore, people in northwest China are advised to eat more fish, shrimp, algae and soybean products if possible. In addition, people in the northwest have a heavy taste and consume more salt, which needs further improvement.
