First of all, I heard that chopsticks were invented by Shang Zhouwang's favorite concubine da ji. One day, while eating, da ji put his two hairpins together to eat, in order to please Shang Zhouwang, and then suddenly found this method of use particularly convenient, so chopsticks were born. Another way of saying it is that when Dayu was controlling water, someone cooked a pot of hot rice for him, but Dayu, who had been grasping things before, felt very hot, but in order to save time, he used two branches and put things together to eat, so chopsticks were born.

Now we don't know which statement is true, but I prefer da ji. Maybe Dayu's story is to beautify his image.
