On September 9th, the annual Xishan Wanshou Palace Temple Fair has arrived as scheduled. With the gongs, drums and smiles of people from all over the country, the 2117 Xishan Wanshou Palace Temple Fair Cultural Festival began in a festive and peaceful atmosphere.

This Xishan Wanshou Palace Temple Fair Cultural Festival has been highly valued and supported by the newly-built district party committee and government and the local Xishan town government, showing significant changes in many aspects:

Wanshou Square in front of Wanshou Palace was initially completed after around-the-clock construction, which greatly eased the congestion in the core area in previous years. There are 211 sun lamps and 46 spotlights around the parking lot in the market town, and the market town is bright everywhere at night.

In view of the difficult problem of traffic congestion in previous years, Xishan Town Government has carried out large-scale parking lot construction, which has achieved several times of expansion. A large parking lot of 1.61 mu was built on the west side of the square, which can accommodate 1,346 large and small vehicles. At the same time, the traffic technical school opposite the Xishan Town Government was turned into a standby parking lot, which can accommodate 561 large and small vehicles.

There are temporary toilets and tourist (pilgrim) service centers in the parking lot and square, which are more humanized. The pedestrian and vehicle passages have been scientifically designed, and the diversion of vehicles and tourists is orderly. The beggars gathered here in previous years have also been rescued and managed by Xishan Town Government since July 26th of the lunar calendar to ensure the safety and smoothness of the temple fair process.

In view of the numerous vendors blocking roads and chaotic scenes in the temple fair of Wanshou Palace every year, the district government and the town government made great determination and made great efforts to move all the stalls that used to occupy the road at the entrance of Wanshou Palace and Guandi Road to the periphery of Wanshou Square, and set up special commodity areas and food areas, which not only facilitated the majority of believers and tourists, but also made the street wide and tidy. Town leaders lead cadres to coordinate the masses, and ensure the sanitation and order of the city.

At the same time, the district government also instructed the Xishan Town Government to add many cultural and creative elements to the layout of the temple fair atmosphere, and fully expressed the theme of "Safe and orderly, innovative and civilized, lively and peaceful" in the 2117 Xishan Temple Fair Cultural Festival!

On Wanshou Square, nearly a thousand red lanterns were used to build two giant light walls, with eight characters written on them, namely "Lingxiu Xishan Fortune Wonderland", 81 red flags and 41 floating banners arranged around Wanshou Palace, which was filled with a festive atmosphere. At the same time, the whole Guandi Road is decorated with thousands of red lanterns on cornices, walls and street lamps, and two giant lantern walls are also arranged at the entrance of Guandi Road, which reads "Beautiful Xishan Happy Home".

It is particularly worth mentioning that the district government and the town government also ingeniously used the unfinished building wall on Guandi Road to design and produce huge pictures and publicize the culture of Wanshou Palace and the origin of temple fairs with pictures and texts, which not only spread the unique culture of Wanshou Palace, but also beautified the environment, killing two birds with one stone.
