Sacrifice in the first eight days of Buddhism is a part of Buddhist practice, and offerings seen in some monasteries are provided in a traditional way. These offerings are not only part of the ceremony, but also an extension of the oath to serve all beings. Sacrifice is the antithesis of greed and greed. Dedication has its material significance, that is, a person dedicates all his valuable things. Or, some people may give all their property symbolically, and imagine that all beings will benefit from it, all their sleepiness will be compensated, and Paramita will be satisfactorily rewarded. Generally speaking, there are seven kinds of sacrifices on the altar, which are placed in seven containers, and each sacrifice has its special significance: (1)-The first sacrifice for drinking water is drinking water. The merit of water supply is to eliminate the thirst of all beings, especially those who are hungry can relieve the pain of thirst. Another purpose of water supply is to make all living beings receive extensive compassion from Buddhism, and finally cool their body and mind. "Water supply" (2)-Bath water, drinking water and bath water as supplies are not that the Buddha is thirsty or needs cleaning, but that providing water to the converted object can help us accumulate merits and gain our purity. Our bodies have many defects and are very fragile, and the purpose of sacrifice is to eliminate the obstacles we will encounter when practicing dharma, meditating and understanding dharma. When supplying water, the cups should be wiped clean. First, pour a little water into the first cup and then filter it in turn. Then arrange them neatly at a distance of one meter wide. Pour clean water from right to left in turn. Should not be too full, you can keep the height of a grain of rice, pay special attention to five kinds of mistakes in water supply, if you can stay away from it, you can get five kinds of merits. The five faults are explained as follows: 1. When the water is not full, there is also "dissatisfaction" with the merits and demerits in the mood. 2. If the water overflows when it is full, karma will have its own reasons. There is no distance between cups, and there have been unlucky friends. On the contrary, if the distance between the cups is too wide, there is a danger of staying away from the guru and good knowledge. 4. A row of crooked cups have troubles and physical and mental disorders in this life and the next. When running water overflows the desktop, or there is water in the rice and water in the rice, the eyes of the world will not be bright, tears will often flow out, and there will be gum. Therefore, we must stay away from the five evils in order to get Five Blessingg in turn. It is said that the Buddha's corpse is nirvana, and monks go to the city to provide bowls. Many donors provided plenty of food, but a poor couple had nothing, so they gave the food to the clear water in the pottery bowl, and their hearts were very respectful and pure. Later, when they lived, it rose to 33 days. The poor couple have accumulated a lot of good and clean food because of their great merits in water supply. They are reborn as nobles in each generation and have beautiful bodies. In the era of Sakyamuni Buddha, he was reincarnated as the son of a wealthy family with a garden and an exquisite house, and became the child of a golden family. He was named "Golden God", and all sentient beings hoped that they could get what they wanted, regardless of food, clothes and Baoyu. Later, the golden god was forbidden by a monk to appear in front of the Buddha and won the status of Luo Han Guo. The third sacrifice of "flowers" is flowers, which will make people around you solemn. Although offering flowers is not necessary for a complete Buddhist world, it is beneficial to donors. It also makes us willing to let all living things find noble homes, and finally they can have all kinds of looks and characteristics as successful people. How to accumulate Fude food by offering flowers? Once upon a time, when Monaghana Munifu adapted to the world, many monks were in the city, the rich were supported by food, and a poor man was nothing, but he was very confident in the monks, respectfully picked flowers of different colors on the grass and bowed to support them with a very pure and pious heart. He was later reincarnated as the son of a wealthy family in the only garden of Sakyamuni Buddha. His appearance was solemn and beautiful. It rained when he was born, and he got the name of "Flower God". This "flower god" grew up and was forbidden by a monk to get the fruit of arhat in front of the Buddha. It can be seen that when offering flowers, the most important thing is to pray that all beings can get the Buddha's fruit with sincerity and purity. Even a small flower will have great merits and benefits because of its broad mind. Burning incense is not because Buddhists and Bodhisattvas need to get rid of their body odor, but because burning incense can get rid of unpleasant and unhealthy smells, and the accumulated merits can finally achieve the completion of the deep fragrance of practice. It is said that people who have completed spiritual practice are surrounded by sweet and fragrant fragrance. What about the supply of incense? According to the source of materials, it can be divided into pure natural spices and synthetic spices; Natural incense such as sandalwood, agarwood, cypress leaf, camphor tree, pine and cypress, angelica, rice husk, azalea and so on. Synthetic incense, such as 1, red and white sandalwood 2, five wonderful offerings 3, musk 4, kapok and other cleaning materials are combined to make sleeping incense; It depends on everyone's ability to turn synthetic fragrance into natural fragrance, and the most important thing is to "be a heart." Natural fragrance should be very clean, and synthetic fragrance is the finished product. The key is to keep the piety in your heart, put the incense into the furnace, light the incense as a support, and first give birth to bodhicitta for the boundless void, such as Buddha's fruit for all beings, which is the heart of progress; It is very important to think with the concept of three-wheeled empty body when moving forward, and the support of returning to the finish line is very important. How Manjusri Bodhisattva benefits all sentient beings and returns, so do I. The merits of supporting will not be returned immediately, and once trouble occurs, the merits will disappear, so it is very important to return. The fifth kind of "lights" are lamps and candles. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas can see clearly with discerning eyes, and they don't need lights and candles to illuminate. Offering a lamp is for the provider to practice observing that the ignorance of all sentient beings is cleared, and it is also for the sake that knowledge and experience can finally be clearly expressed in all sentient beings, just as it naturally appears in the pure hearts of the Buddha and the awakened one. Materials such as lamp oil, butter, ghee and vegetable oil should be clean. Regardless of different materials, such as gold, silver, copper, iron, pottery, glass and so on. The center of gravity should be based on one's own ability, while the lamp center should be exceptionally clean, the roots should be straight and steady, and the precepts should be clean. The middle part is thicker, showing good meditation. The tip of the distal vertex is easy to ignite, indicating wisdom. Light the oil lamp, eat with a clean heart, and pray for the oil lamp: hum, sigh! 1 The lamp cup is like a treasure, beautiful and solemn. 2. Clean and fragrant ghee is full of cups. The soft wick is as straight as a rope. 4. Break the support of the dark light. 5. Three treasures and three basics of attending a normal university. 6. Infinitely return to the sea. 7. The eyes of wisdom are neither dull nor bright. 8. I am waiting for all beings. 9. Darkness is ignorance, and two obstacles have been eliminated. 10. May pure and wise eyes meditate so much and concentrate on the pure land of Buddha under the sunshine. After offering the lamp with a pure and pious heart and repaying the merits of all living beings, the French language blessed by Tibetan Dunzhu Rinpoche in Nimaba was prayed for the lamp. There is a brown cloud saying, "There is no limit to the merits of offering lanterns, which is nothing more than ignorance, epiphany, wisdom, wide pulse and pure evil, and transcending the three realms." Of course, a successful person who is radiant with perfume does not need perfume in the secular world to experience the perfection of nature, but we provide perfume to temporarily purify bad habits, such as greed, jealousy and infatuation. In the end, not only the habits, but also the external world is clean and complete. The seventh kind of food and fruit is food. Winners do not need food support. The purpose of food supply is to temporarily eliminate the hunger and pain of all beings and bring enough food. Finally, providing food can make all beings experience meditation and perfect state, and make all beings live on the natural resources of meditation. Before we talk about giving fruit and accumulating food, let's tell a short story: in the past, there were a poor mother and son in India. When their son went out to farm, his mother prepared food for him as lunch. When he was about to eat, a monk came; My son thinks that our predecessors never accumulated food. If we don't accumulate food in this life, we will be poorer in the next life! So he offered food to the monks with respect and purity and made a great wish. This great wish made him reborn as a prince in his next life, and he had no worries about food and clothing. Therefore, we should also make a vow to provide three treasures for ourselves and all beings in vain with a pure heart. Because of the pure heart and returning to the heart, we will not only get the fruit of the king, but also get the complete fruit of the Buddha! Providing "music" and providing beautiful music as a way to accumulate food? Let's take the wonderful bell music as an example. Generally, bells are ringing in the corners of Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries. Offering the Buddha with this wonderful sound means praising the purity of the Buddha's body and mind, praising the three treasures, and the merits are particularly broad. In the past, when Sakyamuni Buddha was alive, there was a king named King of Persia. He went to Torring with his family and suddenly heard a wonderful voice. Even elephants, horses and animals stopped to listen along the way. The king of Persia is very curious. Who sings so charming that even animals are so intoxicated? It was sung by a young monk. The king of Persia asked the Buddha, "What is the reason why the young monk has this wonderful singing ability?" The Buddha said: Because he once offered sacrifices to A Jin Zi Ling on the Pagoda of Kaya Buddha. And made a pure wish, so during the 500 robbery, everyone has the ability to sing beautiful voices and intoxicate all beings. Therefore, in the Buddhist temple, we support ourselves with three nets-net heart, net line and net return. No matter how the poem, trumpet, whistle sodium, flute and postscript wind are supported, they may achieve 60 wonderful achievements like a young monk. Why are there eight offerings of water, flowers, incense, lamps, lacquer, fruit and music in front of the Buddha? This is a custom that originated in India. When guests come home, they first ask the waiter to drink water, then wash their feet, then hang a flower around their necks, smoke the whole body with incense, then light the lights, paint their bodies with fragrance and give them food. After all, they can play the piano for guests to enjoy. We offer eight kinds of offerings to the Buddha, but in fact the Sambo doesn't need these offerings. All this is for all beings to accumulate food and eight supplies. The key to support is to move forward with a broad heart, think with an empty mind and three views, and achieve three clean-ups in all directions. The French formula given by the noble Kanyu Rinpoche to promote Buddhism has been repeatedly mentioned. Everyone's perfect Buddha nature should not be sought, but should be cultivated in everyone's heart! Only by observing people's hearts from time to time and accumulating fortune can we see the true face of people's hearts and know the precious pearls in people's hearts. Pure motivation is the most valuable support, it is not pure vanity comparison.
The most important thing is to remember sincerely.
