Our traditional Chinese winter solstice custom is to eat dumplings. The simple drawings of dumplings are as follows: Step 1: First draw a semicircle and draw a horizontal line inside.
Step 2: Draw the lace of the dumplings.
Step 3: Finish the remaining lace around the semicircle.
Step 4: Color the dumplings, and a simple sketch of a dumpling is completed.
The origin and custom of dumplings. The original name of dumplings is "Jiao Er". According to legend, it was the Chinese medical sage Zhang Zhongjing who first invented the dumplings.
When Zhang Zhongjing was the governor of Changsha, he often cured diseases for the people.
After Zhang Zhongjing retired from Changsha and returned to his hometown, he happened to catch up with the winter solstice and walked to the bank of Baihe River in his hometown. He saw many poor people suffering from hunger and cold, and their ears were rotten by the frost.
So he wrapped mutton and some anti-cold medicinal materials in dough to look like ears. After the villagers ate this food, their ears were cured.
From then on, the people in the village and later generations imitated the production and called it "dumplings" or "dumplings". In some places, they were also called "Bianshi" or "hot noodle dumplings".
There are many famous dumplings from all over China, such as Guangdong’s shrimp dumplings made from Chengfen, Xi’an’s sour soup dumplings, Hengshui’s pork and cabbage dumplings, Shanghai’s fried dumplings with pot stickers, Yangzhou’s steamed crab roe dumplings, Shandong’s soup dumplings, Shenyang’s
Laobian dumplings and Sichuan Zhongshui dumplings are all popular varieties.
When making dumplings, people often put Jin Ruyi, brown sugar, peanuts, dates and chestnut coins into the stuffing.
Those who eat Ruyi and brown sugar will have sweeter days in the coming year; those who eat peanuts will be healthy and live longer; those who eat dates and chestnuts will have children early; those who eat coins will have continuous wealth.
