The predecessor of Hebei University of Technology is Beiyang Technical School, which was founded in 1903. It is the earliest institution of higher learning in China to train industrial talents, and founded the earliest university-run factory in China. 1929 was renamed Hebei Institute of Technology, and 1995 was renamed Hebei University of Technology.

It has formed a school-running feature of "combining work with study" and trained more than 300,000 outstanding graduates for the country. School 1996 ranks among the first batch of "2 1 1 Project" key construction universities in China; 20 14 was jointly built by Hebei Province, Tianjin City and the Ministry of Education; 20 17 was selected as the national "world-class discipline" construction university. In recent years, materials science, chemistry and engineering have respectively entered the top of ESI global rankings 1%.

1. Qinhuangdao Branch of Northeastern University is a relatively independent ordinary institution of higher learning under the unified planning of Northeastern University with the formal approval of the former State Education Commission. The predecessor of the branch school is the "July 2 1" University established by the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry 1976 in June. 1June, 987, approved by the State Education Commission and the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, and accepted by Northeast Institute of Technology, the "Qinhuangdao Branch of Northeast Institute of Technology" was established.

2. Baoding Campus of North China Electric Power University is the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of "2 1 1 Project", "1Plan" and "Special 985 Project" directly under the Ministry of Education. It is a national key university jointly founded by the board of directors of seven super-large power enterprise groups, including the Ministry of Education and State Grid Corporation, and is known as "Power Huangpu".
