There are 18 districts in Hong Kong to facilitate the government to coordinate and manage services and facilities at the district level, and to encourage the public to participate in district affairs. All districts have district councils, whose functions are mainly advisory. Although district boards are part of Hong Kong's parliamentary system, they do not have the power to legislate and examine and approve the government's public expenditure, nor do they have zoning laws or taxes. The 18 districts are:

Hong Kong Island

Central and Western District

Central and Western District can be subdivided into three parts, namely Admiralty, Central and Sheung Wan, while Western District includes Western District (namely Sai Ying Pun, shek tong tsui and Mid-levels).

Eastern District

Eastern District includes Causeway Bay East (Tin Hau), Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, Victoria Park, North Point, Quarry Bay, Shau Kei Wan, Taikoo Shing, Sai Wan River, Chai Wan and Siu Sai Wan. The west is bounded by Victoria Park, Queen's Yan College and Wan Chai District; The south is bounded by Heijiaotou and Nanqu.

Southern District

The Southern District is located in the south of Hong Kong Island, starting from Big Wave Bay in the east and ending in Pokfulam in the west, including Aberdeen, Ap Lei Chau, Gangxian Bay, Pokfulam, Huangzhukeng, Deep Water Bay, Repulse Bay, Stanley, Tai Tan and Shek O.

Wan Chai District

Wan Chai District includes Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Happy Valley, Tai Hang, Jardine's Hill and Wan Chai Gap.

Kowloon West

Kowloon City

Kowloon City is dominated by residential buildings, including Kowloon City, Kowloon Tong, Ho Man Tin, Ma Tau Wai, Ma Tau Kok, To Kwa Wan, Hung Hom and Kai Tak.

Sham Shui Po District

Sham Shui Po District includes Sham Shui Po, Cheung Sha Wan, Lai Chi Kok, Mei Foo San Tsuen, Suwu, Shek Kip Mei, Youyicun and southern Stonecutters Island.

The name of Yau Tsim Mong District

is composed of the prefixes of the three main areas of Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok.

Kowloon East

Wong Tai Sin District

Wong Tai Sin District is located in the northeast of Kowloon Peninsula, with Lion Mountain, Tate's Cairn Mountain and Tsz Wan Mountain in the north and Fei 'e Mountain in the east, including Wong Tai Sin, Ngau Chi Wan, Rainbow Village, Diamond Mountain, Tsz Wan Mountain, Lok Fu, San Po Kong and Zhuyuan Village.

Kwun Tong District

Kwun Tong District includes Kwun Tong Town Center, Ngau Tau Kok, Kowloon Bay, Sau Mau Ping, Lam Tin, Cha Kwo Ling, Yau Tong, Shun Tin Estate, Jordan Valley and other places.

New Territories East

North District

The North District is divided into four parts: Sheung Shui, Fanling, Sha Tau Kok and Ta Kwu Ling, and the North District was also known as the "Shangfan Shada" area in the early years.

geographically, sai kung district can be divided into "sai kung and its countryside" and "tseung kwan o and clear water bay peninsula".

"Sai Kung and Sai Kung Rural Area" includes Sai Kung City, Baishawan, Boluolai, Jinglan Tree, Pik Uk, Dawangzai, Pak Tam Chung, Ho Chung and High Island Reservoir.

"Tseung Kwan O and Clear Water Bay Peninsula" includes Tai Po Tsai, Tseung Kwan O, Hang Hau, Tiu Keng Ling, Mau Wu Tsai, Clear Water Bay, Budai'ao, Tai Chi Sha and Xiao Chi Sha.

Sha Tin District

Sha Tin District was originally just a reclamation on both sides of Sha Tin Sea and Shing Mun River, including Tai Wai, Fo Tan, Wo Che, Shek Mun, Siu Lek Yuen, Yuen Chau Kok and Ma Liu Shui.

Tai Po District

Tai Po District is located in the central part of the New Territories, starting from Tai Po Kau in the south, reaching Pat Sin Ling in the north, bordering Tai Po Mau in the west and crossing Tolo Harbour in the east, including Shisi Township, Huangzhulang and the outlying islands of Tamen, Pingzhou and Chizhou.

Tsuen Wan District

Tsuen Wan District is redrawn, bounded by Shing Mun Road, wo yi hop road, Changrong Road, Castle Peak Road and Texaco Road in the east, Ting Kau Coastline and Ma Wan Strait in the south, Jialong Village in Tsing Lung Tau in the west, and Tai Mo Shan Country Park near Tsuen Kam 'ao and Shing Mun Country Park near Lead Mine Pit in the north.

Tuen Mun District

Tuen Mun is located in the western New Territories of Hong Kong. There are Castle Peak (583m high) in the west, Jiujing Mountain (57m high) in the east, Yuantou Mountain and Yuen Long Plain in the north and Castle Peak Bay in the south. The central area of the area is sandwiched by two high mountains, Castle Peak and Jiujing Mountain, and the Tuen Mun River separates East and West Tuen Mun.

Yuen Long District

Yuen Long District consists of Xiacun Township (including Hongshuiqiao, Baini and Liufushan), Pingshan Township (including the western part of Yuen Long town center, Hengzhou, Tin Shui Wai and Tsim Bizui), Pat Township (including the eastern part of Yuen Long town center, Aotou and Nanshengwei), Jintian Township and Pat Township (including Shigang). Yuen Long District is adjacent to Zhoutou in the east, Ma Caolong in the north, Hongshuiqiao in the south and Lantian in Tuen Mun.
