When we were young, we wet our father's clothes, but our father kissed us with love. If seeing form is not empty, wouldn't the Buddha's universal love be better than the father's love? Don't narrow the Buddha's realm. Such deliberate narrow-mindedness will let down the Buddha's vastness.

Mountain Moon, all sentient beings do not have life and death, and the light is cut off only because of wrong attachment. I use the mountain and moon as a metaphor. When people walk in the desert, their minds become crazy and confused, and they see mirages. The illusions are real. The delusions are endless and cannot be cut off. They end up in the desert. Therefore, all sentient beings who see images are the same as the desert, and the six objects (color, sound, smell, taste, touch, and law) are all the same as the light and shadow of the mirage, and the illusory dust is the real truth. It is also like a dreamer who mistakenly believed it to be true. Then he woke up and found that the four elements (earth, water, fire, and wind) were empty. There are thoughts in the day, dreams in the night, what one thinks in one's mind, what one's own nature is illusory. Waking up and dreaming, dreaming and waking up again, eternal reincarnation, obsession and suffering. Mountain Moon, there is no mirage, delusional mind and illusory persistence, relying on the six contacts (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind), confusion of prajna, false vision of life and death, and no liberation. This emptiness is nothing, it has no realm, and if Prajna does not illuminate it, no one can know it. Whenever you talk about emptiness, it cannot be emptiness. When the Tathagata talks about emptiness, it is called vacuum. It's like a deceased person who can't speak for himself. He talks and follows the flow, but has no idea of ??death.

Shan said: The Tathagata’s emptiness is called emptiness. There is no attachment to emptiness, and there is no realm of emptiness. All subjectivity cannot be empty. However, when wisdom is perfect and merit is immeasurable, it is still and unmoving, unaware of dependence, and is self-sufficient in emptiness. It is also not gained. In fact, there is nothing gained. This is called gain.

However, how should I pay homage to the Buddha statue and how should I make offerings to my Buddha?

Buddha said: How good, how good, how great! The Tathagata has made offerings to tens of thousands of Buddhas during his immeasurable life of light, and has attained the perfection and supreme truth of all virtues. You should know that there are more than one, two, and three Buddhas, hundreds of millions of Buddhas. These are the Dharma appearances of all Buddhas, the truths of all Buddhas, and the appearances of all Buddhas. The phase is that this offering is not an equal offering. No one knows about the mountain and the moon, and they don’t know it at all, so so far, nothing has been gained. There is no greater love for the Tathagata in the physical form. He is like a parent, like a brother, like a close relative, like me.

Buddha said: Mountain and Moon, how difficult is it to nourish oneself?

Shan said: It’s not difficult, World Honored One. What the Buddha said is true. For your parents, you should be kind and filial; for your brothers, you should be loyal; for your relatives, you should be kind and loving; for yourself, you should be good to yourself.

The Buddha said: The Buddha has no extravagances, and only adds examples. To say that there are extravagances is to slander the Buddha.

Buddha said: When you make offerings to all Buddhas, you are not attached to them. Wherever your heart goes, you will follow your actions. Don't be greedy for the Dharma, cling to the living image, or think about it in your mouth without moving at all. Another example is that there is a person who wants to go to Sumeru (holy mountain), but he does not know the way. Therefore, he meets a person who knows the way and goes to hear and ask about it. He goes straight to the west. When the person hears about it, he goes crazy and keeps paying homage and cannot go. Volume 6: The View of Prajna Nature

Shan Yue: World Honored One! Through your enlightenment, I have a deeper understanding of precepts, concentration, and wisdom, and have reaffirmed their importance. So, if you obtain the correct Dharma practice of precepts, concentration, and wisdom, reach the state of tranquility and contemplation described in Buddhist scriptures, and eliminate "self-natured obsession", then how can you go to the Mahayana path and eliminate "no thoughts"? Apart from "thoughts", what about the existence of pure nature? How should we free ourselves from the shackles of the various appearances and protect the enlightened wisdom until we are liberated? How should we protect the map to the Buddha's land transformed by this wisdom until we walk in front of the Buddha? How can we achieve the right result and never fall into delusional views and delusions, and return to a state without any thoughts?

World Honored One: There is actually only one answer to these questions, and that is to maintain purity. This purity is not that purity. It is the purity that removes all dust. It is the process of first removing evil with good knowledge, and then removing the mental state with emptiness. It is not the purity of delusional thoughts that slanders good nature and ignores evil. All sentient beings in the world originally have no causes and conditions, and no consequences. In their original "nature" state, although they have thoughts, they must have no desires, and they are also perfect and enlightened. To make an analogy, it is like a brand-new and clean bronze mirror. At first, its light reflects flawlessly, but then it is stained by the dust of the world, and its light is gradually annihilated layer by layer. The original clean mirror no longer appears, so All that can be seen is the thick soil. The bright mirror surface is like the original wisdom heart, and the dust is like the desires and various appearances that obscure wisdom. The so-called enlightenment practice is actually to wipe away the layers of dust and return to the pure light and prajna wisdom of the original nature. It is not difficult to wipe away. The difficulty is that all living beings cannot realize that they have wisdom in their own nature, so they seek external appearances. He turned to outsiders as his dharma, and in the end he was completely lost. However, sentient beings whose nature is dusty, without a clear mirror to reappear, think that they can be enlightened by being directly "empty". This is prejudice and the demonic factors of delusion that dominate their thoughts. It is a manifestation of greed for the Dharma, false Dharma, and attachment to emptiness. It is the absence of the Dharma. Obtain pure concentration and insight, and blindly follow the ultimate "nature". If the mirror of Prajna cannot illuminate, how can we know our true face? If you don’t know your true face, how can you illuminate the Buddhaland? And the so-called giving up the "mirror image" only means that only after illuminating Prajna can we obtain the method of expedient purification. If there is no expedient method, how can we return to the path of Buddhism? Is the path you are going on a Buddhist path or a demonic path? Shanyue, all sentient beings originally have no life and death. They only cut off the bright and wise Buddha-nature because of their delusional thinking about various phenomena and the way to achieve enlightenment. . Just like a half-year-old baby who starts running away as soon as it lands on the ground, this is a sign of self-obsession and inability to realize it.

When practicing Buddhism, even if you take one more step, you cannot take the risk of taking one step less. This is what the Buddha has always emphasized: belief in the Dharma, aspiration, and correct conduct. For sentient beings in reincarnation, it is better to believe in the practice of over-attachment at first than to If the Buddha who is slow to see his own innate ability appears, and this theory of birth self-awareness is used as the basis of Buddhism, more sentient beings who are born with many obstacles and karma will mistakenly believe that there is a shortcut, and the shortcut is a cliff, and they need to stop early. The Tathagata is not saying that there is no Buddha born with wisdom in this world, but that a Buddha with wisdom by nature cannot teach ordinary sentient beings with unrealistic words and deeds. However, if sentient beings with arrogant views slander the right view of practice, then they must have ulterior motives. attempt. It is true that people are born with two legs for running, but if you teach a half-year-old baby to run on the ground, then this is an unkind act that poisons all living beings. It has no compassion and claims to be a Buddha. Although such sentient beings who are not afraid of karma are extremely It is rare, but it does exist. If a living being encounters this kind of thing, you can ask him directly, "If you are a true Buddha, since you have obtained the door of emptiness and lawlessness, why do you still have this sign?" He will answer "In order to save all sentient beings, "Reincarnation." Then you ask him, "Are there any sentient beings that you have saved?" If he answers yes, then the Tathagata can tell you that although the Tathagata saves sentient beings, he only imparts the method of enlightenment to them and does not think that there are any sentient beings. Any living being is saved by the Tathagata. If the Tathagata believes that there are sentient beings that are saved by the Tathagata, then the Tathagata has the Dharma. Can a Tathagata who has the Dharma be called the true Tathagata? If he answers no, then the Tathagata can tell you that if it is the true Tathagata, before you ask that question, the Tathagata has already shown you the mirror, and you can verify it yourself. The Tathagata also told the truth that those who talk about seeing emptiness without the logic of Buddhism are attached to the emptiness. If they are attached to the emptiness, they cannot know what emptiness is. The Tathagata tells the truth again that the Tathagata only brings sentient beings to the state of clear mirror illumination and prajna enlightenment, and will no longer instruct sentient beings to go to the state of vacuum, because vacuum is nothing, there is no Dharma to speak of, and sentient beings with enlightened nature, Even without the support of Buddhism, he can always be bright, and finally enter the realm of "emptiness", "no self" and "no thought" where the four elements are empty. This is like teaching a young child to be able to stand and walk, and then he can learn how to run. Obtaining a mirror is equivalent to obtaining a map to "Wu Kong". What else needs to be said about holding a map? However, these sentient beings who have not wiped the mirror of their nature have no basis for attaining enlightenment, so they cannot see emptiness. Just like if they cannot stand or walk, they cannot have the ability to run. Don’t worry about doubting the incarnation of the True Tathagata because of your abnormal judgment. The incarnation of the True Tathagata has no hatred, only compassion. Will the one with hatred be the True Tathagata? There are endless initial ways to save sentient beings. Just like a pharmacist diagnoses different patients, the prescriptions he prescribes vary from person to person. Treating the head for a headache and treating the feet for a pain are not exactly the same. This is why there are so many prescriptions in the world. The reason for the scriptures, each scripture is a medicine. After gaining the enlightenment of the clear mirror, there is only one method of great unity, and this method can only correspond to the mind and heart, but cannot regulate the body. "Emptiness" is the natural fruit of enlightened beings, and is not something that non-enlightened people can expect to obtain through shortcuts. Shanyue, all extravagant hopes, desires, and obsessions are the result of delusional views, over-attachment to various appearances, and over-attachment to all phenomena. However, the more extravagant desires you have, the more you think about them, and the more you think about them, the more you become obsessed. If your mind is obsessed and crazy, Then the wrong view becomes more serious than before, and because you trust your own wrong view too much, you don't believe in the method of enlightenment. If you trust too much in what you see and hear with your five senses and consciousness, you will become steadfast in the illusion and become even more obsessed and persistent. Shanyue, this world of suffering is like a desert, and people who are obsessed with delusions are like making themselves appear in the dry desert. This is like a person walking on the desert who is unconscious, comatose, and confused because of thirst. The more Chaos seeks water, the more he seeks for water. The more he seeks, the more he becomes obsessed and crazy. The calm monitoring of his "nature" will become blurred. Therefore, the hallucination of his "self"'s greed and greed makes him suddenly see a beautiful scenery in the distance. A mirage, where there seemed to be water, people, food, guest stations, etc. to satisfy all his desires, he confidently thought it was real. However, a sober person would understand, would it be real? But will a person walking in the desert be sober? He didn't know that it was his own delusions and fantasies that put his body and mind in a desert situation. As long as he cut off his delusions, he would naturally escape from the desert sea of ??suffering. However, he did not look back to find his true nature, but moved towards the more delusional views that seemed to be real. A mirage like a demonic world.

At this point, what I want to tell all sentient beings is that all sentient beings who mistakenly see all the things, all phenomena, and the world in the world due to their thoughts are just like the walkers who were eventually extinct in the desert. All the phenomena in the world, including All living beings, all things, time, space, etc. are all mirages. All living beings are formed by the light, color, sound, fragrance, taste, feelings, and information received by the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and brain of the "self". The "confidence" of vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and hallucinations, because "confidence" is more self-righteous and clinging to the empty mirage, and deviates from the perfect "emptiness of selflessness". If you still don’t understand, let me tell you another example that all sentient beings have experienced. This is like a person in deep sleep. In a dream, few people can realize that they are dreaming, and they all believe that all the situations at this time are real. Those lights Colors, sounds, aromas, tastes, feelings, and information are also believed to be real. If the person in the dream tells him that he is dreaming and everything is illusory, he must firmly believe that the dream is real and take it as an instruction. His people are arrogant. Only when the "self" consciousness is fully awakened can one feel that it is like a dream but not a dream, and seem to be awake but not awake. If one knows, when the "self" consciousness is completely awakened, it can be like waking up from a dream and realizing it. This so-called "self" awakening is like the current "self" of all living beings. The "self" can awaken the "self", arouse the awareness of all living beings, and can polish the mirror of wisdom of all living beings. The Buddha nature will become more perfect, and the original self will become more perfect. My will to awaken becomes stronger and stronger. Think about it, is vanity, fame, wealth or even everything important in the dream? Only people in dreams think it is important. When you wake up from the dream, everything becomes empty. The imaginary self, characters, events, space, time, everything is a dream, everything is nothing. It is just a fantasy ignited by consciousness, even that "Empty" does not know its "empty place". At this time, for the awakened person, is everything in the dream still important? Think about it again, when the "self" is awakened by the "id" and completely awakens, is the current vanity, fame and fortune, love and hatred, love and hatred, and everything else still important? After awakening, everything becomes empty. These emptiness, characters, events, space, time, everything turns into nothingness. Even the "empty" that we think of now, I don't know where it is after awakening. Why are there dreams, why are there delusions? Just because "there are thoughts in the day and dreams in the night", whatever you think in your original thoughts will be transformed into your own nature. All cause and effect are arranged by the "self-nature", and all events are also arranged by the "self-nature". Suffering is also an arrangement of "self". However, all sentient beings are confused and unaware. Although they say they uphold the Buddha's Dharma, they cannot fully believe that this state is a "dream". This is a complete reversal of the mind and thoughts. It is the karma of the "self" that blocks the awakening of the "self", causing the Living beings cannot "wake up" when they grow up. Even if they wake up and dream again, and dream again and wake up again, they will reincarnate for a long time and never leave the sea of ??suffering. There is no saying of completeness and incompleteness, only enlightenment and non-enlightenment; "empty" is "empty", there is no saying of "like emptiness but not emptiness", only "knowing emptiness" " and "emptiness"; awakening is awakening, there is no such thing as half-awake or not awake, there are only "cultivation" and "achievement". However, this statement is just a name, and the name is just a borrowed name for "existence" for "non-existence".

Shan Yue: I tried to write a verse to ask for the teachings of the Buddha: I had a big dream out of thin air, and in this dream I thought was real, I imagined the existence of the world, but when I woke up, I had a big dream. Discovering everything in the dream, I gained nothing. Thinking back, it is not that everything in this world that is like dust is difficult to be destroyed by Buddhism, nor is it difficult to see its emptiness clearly because of those who know and feel it. It is just because the dreamer cannot "realize" that he is dreaming at all. It is really difficult for people who are obsessed with the six things to realize the existence of "self" and "nature". If they can realize the existence of "self", "nature" and "original thoughts", then from awakening to nirvana, they will end up being "empty" But it's not difficult.

World Honored One: All origins are neither good nor evil, and there is no Buddha or demon. The mind has imagined this vast world, and all the appearances of the vast world are the existence of delusions of the mind.

Shanyue, in this dream, use your own thoughts to think about it thoroughly, and think about what other insights you have.

Shan Yue: Yes, World Honored One! I also use a verse to summarize it: The three thousand worlds actually come from the imagination of one mind. These three thousand worlds are actually a bubble in a dream, a void of time and space. When this mind is destroyed due to enlightenment, it reaches nirvana. Pan, when it returns to nothingness, all worlds and six reincarnations will disappear without a trace. That is true liberation. Liberation means "returning to nothingness". There is not even emptiness, it is nothingness. It’s not that it’s difficult for sentient beings to free themselves from the sea of ??suffering in samsara, it’s just that it’s difficult for such beings to let go of all vain and delusional notions of fame and fortune, gains and losses, love and hatred, love and hatred. Even if one can eliminate evil and demons through "self-cultivation", it is still difficult to "enlighten" oneself to become a good person and become a Buddha. This is the delusion of desire, and this is the wrong love for the Buddha.

World Honored One: I immediately know what true emptiness is. This is the true fruit of enlightenment. Being able to truly turn emptiness into nothingness is the supreme purpose of enlightenment. Only enlightenment is meaningful and you will not be attached to enlightenment. Of course, once you are truly enlightened, you will no longer be obsessed with enlightenment. In fact, the reason why "empty" is said to be "empty" is because "empty" means nothing, not even "empty". If there is an "empty" that thoughts can touch, it is still "empty". The "phase" of "empty" is the "name" of "empty", not the real "empty". "empty" has no realm, and there is no "empty realm" at all. If you can "obtain emptiness", then you are attached to it. Empty phase”. If we talk about some ideology, this "empty" is actually "empty of non-existence", which is the purpose of all Buddhism. Even if you are wise and enlightened, you cannot fully understand it because it is insensible. All "emptiness" mentioned in the heart is "empty", including the "empty" mentioned now, which is just called "empty" in order to compare with "phase". Using the metaphor of the six paths of reincarnation, this is like a person who has passed away. He himself does not know what death is, because there is no world here and there, and all living beings who can talk about it cannot have experienced death. , experienced death, do not remember the past life, do not know death and the past life.

Without enlightenment, there is no way to obtain nirvana. Without the experience of practicing Buddhism, there is no enlightenment to achieve perfect wisdom. , then this would deviate from the highest Buddhist truth. However, how should we, all sentient beings, pay homage to the Buddha and make offerings to the Buddhas?

World Honored One: Well, respecting the Buddha is a compassionate mind, participating in offerings is the way to gain enlightenment, sincerity is the beginning of aspiration, and worshiping the Buddha is the magic weapon to awaken the Buddha nature. Paying homage to the Buddha does not mean praying for the Buddha's alms, but rather admiring the Buddha's great enlightenment. This should be the only aspiration of all sentient beings, and one should not be greedy or greedy for the Dharma. The Tathagata once paid homage to and made offerings to all the Buddhas who were prophets and prophets in the visible and infinite time and space, and finally obtained the supreme and perfect merit and enlightenment, and finally obtained the ultimate and non-dual truth. You should know that you cannot choose all Buddhas because of your preferences, or participate in offerings because of your preferences. It is not just about obtaining infinite enlightenment from the limited Buddhas, but about all past, present, and future Buddhas, as well as all Dharma and Buddha images. , the harmony and conclusion of the Buddha body can achieve the supreme Tathagata wisdom. Shanyue, sentient beings with dishonest thoughts do not know what it is to make offerings to the Buddha. Even if they know, it is only an external form, so that in the end they will gain nothing. This is because they cannot sincerely make offerings and have no merit. Cause and effect. The Tathagata whose body is visible possesses supreme compassion and great love, just as a parent loves his children, as an elder brother loves his younger siblings, as he loves his fellow tribesmen as a dearest one, and as he loves himself.

Shan Yue: Great, World Honored One! The Tathagata in the form of Dharma is as selfless as the heaven and earth that give birth to all things; the Tathagata in the form of the body is as loving as the parents who raise their children and grandchildren. He is not majestic and cannot be offended, but is one with all living beings. The Tathagata treats everything as he treats himself, and his kindness is flawless.

World Honored One: The kinship relationship between all Buddhas and all sentient beings is like that in the mountains and moons. So how should all sentient beings participate in and support the Buddhas? Is it difficult to support your parents?

Shan Yue: This is not difficult, because there are references to kindness and filial piety, World Honored One!

World Honored One: Shanyue, is it difficult to love your brothers?

Shan Yue: This is not difficult, because there is a reference to Tiyi, World Honored One!

World Honored One: Shanyue, is it difficult to be kind to yourself?

Shan Yue: This is not difficult, because there are ethical references, World Honored One! I understand the meaning of what the Buddha said. The thoughts of giving birth to compassionate parents, brothers, and self are all natural and natural relationships. They are all kind of kindness that does not need to be thought about in the world. As long as the heart is there, bright and compassionate, this is participating in worshiping the Buddha. The Buddha does not have any requirements. As long as the mind is there, the mind can be directed toward the Buddha, and the self-nature will not be lost. As the Buddha said, if the mind participates in the offerings, then the actions will naturally arrive. That kind of nature is just like the filial piety towards one's parents, the filial piety towards one's elder brother, the respect and love towards one's clan members, and the kindness towards oneself. This is family love, and there is no fraternal love that requires much thought.

It is not the intention of all dwellings, but the non-attachment of life. I hope that all sentient beings will not covet the Dharma and cling to all tangible Buddha relics out of obsession, but should be in a state of non-attachment. Beings who are truly sincere will not see the shadow of superficial attachment. This is like a person who vows to go to Mount Sumeru, but he doesn’t know the direction of his journey. On the way, he meets a compassionate guide who tells him to go straight west to reach the holy Mount Sumeru. This journey The man was so happy that he immediately fell down and bowed to the ground. However, he could not bow down and had no intention of leaving for a long time. The guide asked him strangely, "I have told you the route. I just thank you. Now, You already know the way, why don't you hurry up and reach Mount Sumeru? Do you really want to go to Mount Sumeru? If it is true, wouldn't you give up halfway if you stay here for a long time? Is this Mount Sumeru? "Shanyue, Tathagata, if you want to know what Buddha is, then please listen carefully to my Buddha verse: Buddha is like a person who is full of compassion and willing to guide all living beings. After asking, you can go on your way. , the Buddha will not care whether you pray or not, but being able to know the etiquette is a manifestation of kind thoughts, and kind thoughts are the fast horse of the journey. When saying goodbye to the guide, there is no need for too many words of emotion, because the road to the west is long and long. If you remember the kindness along the way, then the light will never be lost. When you meet someone who is also lost on the road, then you will remember your own troubles, your kindness and compassion will sympathize with his loss, and you will take him with you on the journey, and you will achieve immeasurable things. Merit and perfect wisdom. Knowing the road only means knowing the method, not the ultimate goal. Arriving on the road is the ultimate result of all practice. This result is the supreme wisdom and enlightenment.
