A play was given to the Tang Dynasty, which could not go back.
The Tang Dynasty was the peak period in the history of China. At that time, people from all over the world gathered in Chang 'an, and culture, politics, economy and technology reached an unprecedented peak. Even in the late period of "Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms", the imprint of "the glory of Han and Tang Dynasties" continued.
"Han Xizai's Night Banquet" Southern Tang Gu
The famous painting Han Xizai's Night Banquet is a gap for modern people to spy on the style and human feelings of the Tang Dynasty, and it is also the source of inspiration for the well-known immersed cultural sensory restaurant "Liangshe Night Banquet" in Shanghai. It started with melodious pipa tunes, the dance gradually got better, and the collective performance of musicians and prostitutes pushed the atmosphere to a climax. At the end of the song, people broke up, and a family banquet of Tang dynasty literati who indulged in music was stepping on the rut of the Millennium era.
"We hope that through such a space, people will have a multi-faceted immersive experience and feel the culture of China and the past and present lifestyle of China people." Designer Wang Yang said.
▲ Cross-border designer Wang Yang was interviewed.
Taking the prosperous Tang Dynasty as the source, China's traditional culture, food, music, dance and traditional opera are integrated and displayed in the form of multimedia art, which is a collision between technology and art, creating a multi-level sensory "artistic conception".
As Wang Yang said, this is not an ordinary dinner party, but a play, a dream and a movie.
Overture: Penglai Scenic Area
Light and candles, into wonderland.
"Building a house in a human environment, but no chariots and horses" is the carefree realm in Tao Yuanming's works, and it is also the poetic hometown that modern people living in the noisy city yearn for. However, in contrast, the banquet in Liang She seems to present a kind of "dream" and a kind of "glitz" far from the secular.
The predecessor of Liangshe Night Banquet is a century-old factory building hidden in the old building complex of Shaanxi North Road. Before trying to describe this dream of the Tang Dynasty, designer Wang Yang combined his own experience in studying historical materials and constructed its outline bit by bit in his mind. Finally, the quiet plot in the noise found its true body.
▲ When you push the door in, the Tang Dynasty-style buildings on the background wall of the front hall come into view, and you can vaguely see the framework of the building itself. Initially, the whole space was separated by the floor. After renovation and demolition, it formed a very high atrium.
▲ At night, the lights are on, the light and shadow are rising, flying cranes are flying in the clouds, and red is floating. An epic of the prosperous Tang Dynasty is about to be staged.
Japan is the most complete place to preserve ancient buildings in the Tang Dynasty. In order to complete realistic reproduction, Wang Yang and his team went to Nara, Japan, and restored many architectural models, which were finally presented by 3D printing technology.
▲ All-copper hollow curtains can clearly see the movement outside indoors, but you can't get a glimpse of the restaurant outside. Under the sunlight, the projection is mottled, large or small, and it becomes a pleasant shadow.
The second paragraph: Empathy creates the environment.
Step by step, getting better and better.
"What day is its beauty? Who owns the house? " In China's traditional aesthetics, both poetry and painting and courtyard building regard "creating the realm" (creating the artistic conception) as an artistic pursuit. At the banquet, the designer wanted to present the home of an ancient scholar-bureaucrat, from the front hall, corridors, pavilions, pavilions, reception rooms, restaurants and tea rooms ..... step by step, and gradually get better.
▲ elevator. Different from traditional restaurants where people sit at the door to eat, the overall route of Liangshe Night Banquet is divided according to different functions such as rest, immersive dining, performance and tea tasting. When guests enter here, the first step is to take the elevator to the second floor, the pavilions in the Lu Yu, pass through the long cloister, and finally become the guests of the host family.
▲ Corridor on the second floor. "Many guests have been able to blend into the scene naturally. Wherever they go, they clap their hands. There are courtyards and pavilions. Maybe guests will accidentally see a character in the opera appear here. " Wang Yang tried to create a feeling of "crossing" through the effects of lighting, color and multimedia, which is the real artistic conception of "hiding in the city".
▲ Step by step, the guests gradually entered the "dream" created by the host with the moving line.
▲ On a clear day in Wan Li, the sun shines through the hollow curtain wall, and the shadows of pavilions and mountain clouds overlap and set off each other, as if the fairy music is fluttering, showing an quaint and classic atmosphere.
▲ In creating the overall atmosphere, Wang Yang chose "China Red" as the background color, supplemented by the artistic presentation of lighting, creating a modern and fashionable "Chinese style", which can freely switch various lighting systems and visually create an immersive sensory experience for the restaurant.
▲ The spire of a century-old house is one of Wang Yang's favorite places. The spire always gives people unlimited artistic reverie and thinking expansion. The original old wood has been refurbished, giving people a brand-new feeling, rather than blindly pursuing "doing old".
The designer re-poured and polished the cement column of the original factory building, forming a visual sense of "making the old with the old". A row of columns separated the corridor from the living room, and the mottled cylindrical surface also crossed back to that era thousands of years ago.
▲ At the end of the meeting space, there is a whole mirror, which enhances the depth of field of the space. On both sides of the mirror are hidden doors that lead to the bathroom and kitchen respectively. Sometimes, there will be a chef show here, and the curtains fall on the mirror, which is another space for holding small activities.
▲ The wall of the living room is a picture of a thousand miles of mountains and rivers composed of pixels. "Originally this wall was a window, but the scenery outside the window was not particularly good, so I hope it can be used as a wall to show a long scroll of mountains and rivers." Wang Yang said that through the use of orifice, the picture is pixelated, but it presents a confusing and confusing artistic conception.
▲ There are many utensils on the scene, which originated from the brand store "good design" originally built by Wang Yang. Although the cultural relics are beautiful, it is still very difficult to directly implant them into the lives of contemporary people. China people's love for food seems to be a spiritual pursuit carved in their bones.
Wang Yang decided to take "eating" as the medium, from the well-designed open kitchen to the multimedia immersive dining experience in today's "well-designed evening banquet", to sublimate life into a grand ceremony and exploration with "banquet" and feel how to improve the taste and quality of life.
The third paragraph: Be elated
Beautiful as a flower, flying like water.
The whole dinner follows the preset context, and the direction of the script is clear. In the process of searching for more than two years, Wang Yang and his team discovered the historical materials and food culture of the Tang Dynasty. Some dishes use their original names, and designers have excavated their presentation methods from historical materials.
"For example, there was Tang Guo in the Tang Dynasty, and Japanese fruit was handed down from the Tang Dynasty. Many people may not know it very well. In a dessert, we tell you that this fruit came from the Tang Dynasty in China. " Wang Yang said.
▲ Corridor. The corridor of the dining room leads to another pavilion.
▲ A well-designed banquet has only one seat of 12 per night, sharing 1000 square meters of private space. You can reserve a seat or have dinner with friends who don't know where they come from. Dinner includes 65,438+08 dishes and 65,438+08 glasses of wine. Each dish combines food, vision, video, music, taste and emotion, as well as the leaping imagination in China's aesthetic culture.
▲ The last chapter of the music curtain is also the climax of the whole dinner. The gold bar symbolizing wealth "falls from the sky", which is the peak of life and the end of dreams. The designer wants to tell visitors that if there is a dream, it will be like a dream bubble.
The fourth paragraph: dreaming in the garden
Drunk eyes, young as a dream.
Sometimes, after dinner, guests will say "I'm going back to make up for China culture" and "I'll take my children to experience it later". For designers, it is always comforting to hear this statement. "I think what I have done has played a certain role. In today's environment, everyone also has some wishes and ideas to return to China culture. "
A few years ago, Wang Yang and his team launched the "Aesthetic Revival Plan" to reproduce China's aesthetics. During the banquet, guests can experience some immersive performances, such as Kunqu afternoon tea and contemporary art performances, which can enhance China people's aesthetic views from multiple dimensions.
▲ From the restaurant, the next functional space is a small theater. Stage design in classical period, in which the guests are both audience and part of the plot.
▲ Guests can listen to the elegant and graceful Kunqu lyrics, chase the graceful posture of the actors and taste elegant and unique tea.
▲ Kunqu actors are making up.
At the end of the curtain: everything returns to people's hearts
It's hard to get rid of glitz.
After the noise, the song is over, and the guests will finally return to their lives. Starting from the small theater, I also came to the last stop of this immersive experience: Jihe Tea Room. It only takes 2-3 hours from dreaming to dreaming.
▲ Tea room. This is a quiet and peaceful place where you can concentrate on meditation and get closer to your heart.
▲ Collection area. Take your favorite things home before you leave.
▲ When you open the doors and windows, it is a familiar Vientiane world of mortals. The elegance of the Tang dynasty seems to be isolated from the world and has always stayed in the past.
Designer's question and answer
1. Why should Tang Wenhua be used to build such an immersive cultural sensory restaurant?
A: The Tang Dynasty was a very glorious era in ancient China, and it was also very inclusive, which reminded me of China at that time. During the period of "good design", designers, directors, producers, musicians, investors ... friends from all walks of life will come to the party, and sometimes everyone will cook a dish and make a "banquet".
Once, I chatted with a group of directors and wondered if I could make a deeper space where I could not only feel the food and the objects we wanted to convey, but also play a role. Thus, the "Jia Ning Night Banquet" was born.
2. What relevant historical materials were made before the formation?
A: In "Good Design", we have lunch and dinner, and there is also a "gathering" section to put the products we think are good on our platform. The whole project took three years from planning to opening, and we read hundreds of books related to the Tang Dynasty, including cookbooks.
3. Roofs, beams and columns and many other places are not "repaired as old", but present a brand-new sense of fashion. What is the consideration?
A: When conveying China culture, we can't always be "retro". We hope that more young people are willing to accept China culture, and we hope that China culture will be open to the whole world. Some expressions are also loved by foreigners, subverting their outdated stereotypes about China culture.
