Arrive in Luding
The tour guide reminded us that we must visit the Luding Bridge, which is famous for the Red Army flying in the bullets, and experience the thrill and excitement, but I was surprised and sweated.
Luding Bridge, also known as Tiesuo Bridge, is103m long and 3m wide. 13 chains are fixed in the wells of abutment on both sides, with 9 as bottom chains and 4 as handrails on both sides.
Walking on the bridge and looking at the choppy river under it, I felt a deep fear from the bottom of my heart, fearing that I would accidentally step on the gap on the bridge and fall and be washed away by the water.
But on May 29th, 1935, the Long March of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants passed through here. Commandos led by 22 warriors braved the enemy's bullets and crawled forward on the iron cable bridge, destroying the guards at the bridgehead and capturing strategic locations in one fell swoop. Thought of here, I can't help but want to experience this thrilling.
Taluding bridge
But when I walked on the bridge, I really regretted it. I couldn't even walk. Looking at the raging river under the bridge, my heart almost collapsed. For me who is afraid of heights and water, I don't know how I got onto such a "no return bridge".
I remember when I was very young. There is a reservoir near our home, and there is an arch bridge next to it. When the reservoir is closed, we always like to fish and catch shrimp at the outlet of the reservoir. Three or four meters underground from the bridge is a big grain drying field. Every summer when my friends and I go to the reservoir, I never have time to cross the bridge alone. My friend is impatient, so am I, but I am also afraid.
Conquer oneself
I'm afraid of heights, and I always feel like I'm going to fall when I walk on the arch bridge. It can be seen that "fear of heights" has actually been marked and shadowed since I was very young.
The moment I set foot on Luding Bridge, I took a few steps and began to regret it. The bridge consists of planks and chains. There are nine chains in the middle, which always shake when walking.
Some people are not afraid. Seeing that we are so timid, they walk on both sides of the bridge, which makes the bridge more unbalanced. I walked in the middle of the bridge and broke out in a cold sweat halfway through.
I can only hold on to my little friend's skirts and dare not relax at all. My palms have been sweating, and my eyes dare not look down. I walked slowly along the way. Until I was too scared to go forward, I called my little friend on the bridge and asked me to look at the distant mountain to distract me.
There's really nothing we can do. I begged her for almost the rest of the way and told her that we would never go back, okay? Please ask the guide to drive across the bridge to pick me up.
Re-take Luding Bridge
But when I finally reached the opposite side of the bridge, the security guard told us: we can't drive here. So I had to bite the bullet and walk back. Opposite the bridge is a temple. With a sincere heart, I prayed to the Bodhisattva to help me cross the bridge safely.
I also clung to my little friend's skirt and dared not look down. I pray that this trip will end soon. I don't feel guilty about seeing others walking on the bridge calmly, even toddlers can relax so much.
I really admire those brave men who flew over the Luding Bridge, braved the enemy's bullets and won without wooden boards.
I am grateful to them now. It is because of their fearlessness that we have a happy life now.
Hailuogou
Walking down from Luding Bridge, I started to drive to Hailuogou, more than 20 kilometers away. At the foot of the mountain, I heard that it would take more than ten minutes to get to Hailuogou by cable car, and my heart thumped. I just told them I'd wait for you down there.
Seriously, I'd rather walk more than ten kilometers of mountain roads than take a cable car for more than ten minutes. I'm afraid of death. Finally, our friends didn't go to Hailuogou because the tickets were too expensive. We only stopped at the scenic entrance of Hailuogou for a while, then got down and started driving to Chengdu.
Chengdu hotpot
At seven or eight o'clock in the evening, we found a place to live, and we were excited to start a gourmet trip in Chengdu. The first is the famous Kuanzhai Lane, but after walking for nearly two hours, I found that Kuanzhai Lane has no special food, which is disappointing.
They were hungry, waiting for the arrival of Zhou Ge and his party, and ate a series of meals. In Chengdu, there are no fewer people who eat skewers late at night than those who eat barbecues late at night in Guangdong. It can be said that strings are the nightlife characteristics of Chengdu people.
This is a journey full of laughter, surprise, fear and beautiful scenery. "Body in hell, eyes in heaven" is unforgettable.
