According to historical records, Lamian Noodles, a Lanzhou beef, has a history of 2 years. Its founder, Chen Weijing, was a student of imperial academy during Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty.
The three brothers Chen Weilin, Chen Xiesheng and Chen Hesheng played a key role in improving and unifying the standard of Lanzhou beef Lamian Noodles (one clear, two white, three red, four green, wuhuang), and turned this street snack into a popular food.

According to legend, in the 194s, an official with a big beard frequented Ma Baozi Hotpot Restaurant in Jiuquan Road, Lanzhou. Once at dinner, he asked the name of the shop, and the boss told the truth relatively. He said, don't listen to this hot pot noodle. You see that this noodle soup is clear and rotten, and it looks sweet and delicious, so it is called "clear soup beef noodles". The bearded official is Mr Yu Youren.
Later, he returned to Chongqing. After his approval, Lanzhou beef noodles became very famous in China. From this point of view, Mr. Yu Youren is the earliest spokesman of Lanzhou beef noodles.
In the long revolution, the Rightists left footprints and a lot of ink. It is also a great luck that the name of beef noodles was taken from the old beef noodles.
