The Red Flag Canal is in Linzhou City, Henan Province, a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction and a national key cultural relics protection unit.
The Red Flag Canal is a project built by the people of Linxian County (now Linzhou City) in the 1960s to bring Zhangzhang into the forest from the waist of the Taihang Mountains under extremely difficult conditions, and it is called "Artificial Heavenly River". The project started in February 1960, to July 1969 branch canal supporting works were fully completed, which took nearly ten years.
Linzhou City is at the junction of Henan, Shanxi and Hebei provinces, and has a history of severe drought and water shortage. Red Flag Canal, an artificially constructed irrigation canal.

The Hongqi Canal Main Canal is divided into the first, second, and third canals under the canal.
The first trunk canal from the watershed along the east side of the Linxian mountain to the south, through the water river, black dragon temple, Tianjiagou, Huanghua, Taoyuan, north Xiaozhuang, Wenjia palms and other villages to the west of the town of Hejian and heroes of the canal confluence, the total length of 39.7 kilometers.
The second trunk canal from the watershed, along the northeastern Yao village town cat'er ridge, through the Shenjiagang, Jiaojiatun, Majiashan, Pang village, the Imperial tomb, Yang Boshantun, Zhangjiajing, Qiaojiatun and other villages to the east of Madian village, the total length of 47.6 kilometers.
The third trunk canal branches off from the right side of the end of the main canal (watershed) 560 meters upstream, extending to the northeast, through the Xianyan village to the lower Yanko village south through the Luzhailing 3898-meter-long Aurora Cave, to the east of Dongluzhai village, a total length of 10.9 kilometers.
