Rash on the body
The drug rash is caused by delayed-type drug allergy, which usually resolves spontaneously after stopping the drug. The patient has skin lesions, erythema, and a variety of rashes. Butterfly-shaped erythema on the zygomatic face and edematous erythema around the nails and fingertips are the characteristic manifestations of SLE. Butterfly-shaped erythema does not extend beyond the nasolabial folds, and irregularly shaped erythema can be found on the bridge of the nose, forehead, and auricles. Erythema of different shapes can also be found on the dorsum of the elbow, dorsum of the palm, dorsum of the knuckles, dorsum of the phalanges, palms of the hands, and soles of the feet of the upper arms. The shapes include discoid erythema, circumscribed erythema, edematous erythema, and erythema multiforme. Discoid erythema has a flaky shape with clear borders, slightly elevated and flat middle division, with keratinous debris adhering to it which cannot be removed by wiping, and connected to the hair follicle below, which is a follicular keratinous plug, and may later leave atrophic scars with a slight depression. The rash has red papules, macules, usually not itchy or slightly itchy, can occur in all parts of the body, to the face, neck, limbs are common. A few people have blisters, blood blisters. After the erythema and blisters subside, epidermal atrophy, hyperpigmentation and keratinization may occur. Photosensitivity, about 1/3 of the patients have redness on the whole face when exposed to sunlight. Mainly sensitive to ultraviolet light, summer in the shade, due to the radiation of the face will also be red, some patients appear after sun exposure to sun allergic rash.
