The stem of POTAMOGETON acuminata is elliptical or nearly cylindrical, with a diameter of .5 1 mm and branches. The base often crawls on the ground, and there are sparse fibrous roots at the nodes, which can reach about 1 cm long, light yellow and slender. Internodes are 2 5 cm long.
