What does halal mean?

The word "halal" has a simple meaning in ancient Chinese, and was widely used by the society. After Islam was introduced into China in the Tang Dynasty, it had not been named in the Song Dynasty. Since the Yuan Dynasty, China scholars have gradually used words such as "Qing", "Jing" and "Zhen" to represent Islam. The word "halal" is associated with Islam.

nowadays, the meaning of "Muslim" is only used to refer to meat products, diets and places of worship made by Muslims, such as Muslim food, Muslim restaurants and mosques, but not to other things.

Muslim food refers to foods, non-staple foods and condiments that are produced, processed, stored, transported and sold according to the eating habits of people who eat Muslim food. According to the customs of these ethnic minorities, halal food does not contain self-immolation, blood, pork and other taboos.

"Muslim" praises

"Shi Shuo Xin Yu": "Taizu respects it with Muslim." In the Tang Dynasty, Li Bai had a poem that "the holy generation restores the ancient times, and the clothes are expensive for halal". In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Islamic scholars in China used words such as "quiet and uncontaminated" and "God is the only true one, which is called halal" to praise Allah, which is worshipped by Islam, so they called Islam "Puritanism" and their temples "Mosques".

Later, Muslims of Hui nationality used the word "halal" more and more in praising and interpreting Islam, thinking that purity is pure, truth is not miscellaneous, and purity is "halal". Thus, the relationship between the word "halal" and Islam is gradually strengthened. Nowadays, commonly used words related to halal include mosque, telling the truth, halal food, halal restaurant and so on.
