1, Tianhou Palace
Tianhou Palace was built in 1326 (the third year of Thai), formerly known as Tianfei Palace, commonly known as Niangniang Palace. After many renovations, it is the oldest building complex in Tianjin and one of the earliest existing Mazu Tempel in China. The building complex, which faces the Haihe River from west to east, is composed of a mountain gate, a memorial archway, a front hall, a main hall, etc. It is a typical traditional temple-style building in China. Every year, after Tianhou's birthday, a large-scale folk temple meeting is held around Tianhou Palace, and boatmen along the river and the surrounding believers come one after another, and merchants from all over the country gather, which has created the prosperity of Gongnangong North Street (now the ancient cultural street), the most famous commercial street in Tianjin.
In the past, boatmen often made models of their boats and presented them to Tianhou before going out to sea, in order to pray for safety at sea. Old Tianjin people also have the custom of seeking children in the Tianhou Palace, which is manifested in the traditional cross talk "Tie Dolls". In the past, couples who had no children after marriage would go to the Tianhou Palace to worship and tie a clay doll home with a red line, which was called "Big Brother Doll", that is, the eldest son. In the future, even if the eldest son was born, he would be the second child, and "Big Brother Doll" would take a bath every year, meaning that he would grow up a little every year, which was also one of the folk beliefs in old Tianjin.
The incense in Tianhou Palace is very prosperous, especially on March 23rd of the lunar calendar, when the Empress's birthday is celebrated, an "Emperor's Meeting" is held every year, and stilts, dragon lanterns, roller boats and lion dances are performed. Hundreds of plays are gathered and very lively. Tianhou Palace has now become a folk museum in Tianjin, introducing the historical evolution of Tianjin and displaying various folk customs.

Kite Wei has a history of hundreds of years. The first generation was Wei Yuantai. Because of his poor family, Wei Yuantai 16 was an apprentice in a colorful shop, and he became interested in making kites. Wei Yuantai is ingenious and willing to work hard. During his apprenticeship, when he was in trouble, he was asked to make a ten-foot kite and a ten-foot-long centipede kite with wisdom. At the end of his four-year apprenticeship, he learned the craft of making colorful kites and other small toys. His father set him up with a shop called "Changqingzhai" in Dongmenli Street, and he has been making kites since then. In addition to making general colored ribbons, he also carefully and repeatedly studied and observed the proportional relationship between the bodies and wings of flying animals such as dragonflies, butterflies, eagles and swallows and their flying postures, and then devoted himself to studying and using them in kite carving. Every time he makes a kite, he has to carve it carefully, test it repeatedly and improve it one by one. After Wei Shenxing, the second-generation inheritor, and Wei Yongchang, the third-generation inheritor (who was awarded the title of Master of Arts and Crafts by UNESCO), it is now headed by Wei Guoqiu, the fourth-generation inheritor.

His works are both traditional and modern, maintaining the characteristics of many shapes, true painting, fine stunts, stable flight, emphasis on moral exercises and constant innovation. His "gongs, drums and geese" can knock out beautiful music in the air. Flying Eagle, dzi Fish, Crab and Songhe Yannian are his representative works.
